Hello everyone. I’m 83 years old, and my hearing has been slowly going downhill for several decades. I’ve been lurking on this site for years and have great appreciation for the many knowledgable and friendly participants. I’ve had several HAs from Costco, including Rexton, Resound, Phillips, and Jabra, but none of them helped me with hearing conversations in noisy environments. I’ve now been wearing Phonak Audeo Sphere I90s from Kaiser Permanente for over 6 months and am generally pleased. In Automatic mode, they easily switch to Car or Spheric Speech in Loud Noise when appropriate. Best of all, going out to coffee shops and restaurants is finally a pleasure again, because I can participate in conversations without having to strain to hear others. I’ve never run low on batteries.
I do have one annoying problem and hope someone can advise me how to solve it. I use the myPhonak app on my iPhone and love how phone calls and videos connect directly to the aids through Bluetooth. But if I leave my phone on my desk and walk to the kitchen, for example, I lose the Bluetooth connection. To get it back, I have to take off both aids and press the buttons until the red lights come on and then press them again until the green lights begin blinking. Then I can put them back on and things are back to normal. There must be an easier way to do this. Can anyone help me?
