Phonak Audeo Paradise P90 Receiver Selection

I have Medium Receivers and don’t hear well with my Paradise P90s

Would I hear better with higher power receivers?

It’s would be a small price to pay to try, of course you’ll need your fitter to make some small changes in target software to make sure your getting the best from them, are you using domes or custom molds, if so I’ve used the soft silicone molds and have been able to interchange between the two different levels.
Could be anything that’s stopping some decent clarity coming through, not just the receiver, but a good start for about $100.

Neville was very helpful a while ago. He suggested Slim Tips.
The old Audi had open domes. I had him change receivers to medium from low.

My first hearing aid was an in the ear one. They squealed when I ate. After two years they remade them. I used them for another 8 years but they hurt. I don’t want to go through that again.

I hear people with behind the ear HA saying they hear better using large tubes replacing small.

Phonak is amazing. They announced they are changing receivers on Paradise P90 hearing aids. I have had horrible problems with the darn tiny wax guards in my receivers. I’ve changed them twice this week. One of mine was in crooked when I checked because I couldn’t hear. Phonak clearly want to help and watch this forum.

I’ll be grateful when I get the new receivers for my hearing aids and get rid of the minuscule wax guards. I’ll ask my hearing instrument specialist when I see them in several days

I was using the wax guards that come in the disc and my fitter/audi changed out the receivers so that I now use the wax guards that come on a small stick. Hallelujah ! I hated that disc!

Yes he’s great, always good to “hear” the advice, as open and low standard receiver definitely wasn’t right for your level of loss.

Yeah so the BTE models can be pretty good for those that really need them, I used them with slim tubes, then moved to RIC models and haven’t looked back.

Yeah and about time, they had a horrible experience, really bad idea/ design, you can use the Cerustop ones now.

Brilliant idea, I hope they don’t charge you too much, hopefully not any more then the older version 4.0

Thanks for your response. I’ll see what I can arrange. New receivers will be a big impact

I Have KS 10, which is basically the same as Phonak P90, with SlimTip ear pieces. I have used CeruStop with my SlimTips, as recommended and have taken out CeruShield disks from my P receivers. I have not seen a clear recommendation from Phonak in such a situation, but I do not think there is need to use two filters for wax guard. Phonak receivers usually come with CeruShield disk for use with domes.

Your KS10 are exactly the same, which is a good thing, yeah so what wax filters you use depends on the receiver, the Cerustop are the easiest to use going right back to older models, why they thought to change is anyone’s guess, but regardless they are now back on track which is gonna make things easier for everyone, but still I wonder what the cost of these new 5.0 receivers are going to be.
