Phonak Audeo Infinio Sphere 70

I have Power Domes 4.0L.
I just don’t feel like my Audi has explained things well to me on how they work. For instance, how the Automatic setting works at shifting settings and what is Auto sense?

I have so much to learn.

Our hearing aids are smart.

If I’m working in noise I often see that the control program (autosense) has switched into “speech in noise”

My Audi has saved 4? Programs to help me hear better.

I’m still having problems.

I’m getting there.

Right now I have closed domes on my receivers. They have 2 tiny holes.

I’ve tried PowerDomes. I don’t like them.

Soon I’m getting c-shells. They are inserts.

@Neville has helped me so much. I finally asked my hearing instrument specialist to take moulds and order them.

My specialist is excellent.

I would prefer the automatic mode, because I am not sure which manual one to select.
If you make a program off of Automatic, then that new program does not switch to other modes automatically?

Normaly the Phonak Audeo are setup to work in the automatic mode ( in Autosense)

I don’t think I know enough to do a good job at that and would prefer they work in automatic so I don’t have to think which manual work would work the best. I will take a look at the links. Good thing is I did not buy them yet. Free trial period.

I just want to put mine on and understand what’s being said.

I thought I was close. Maybe I shall be when I get my inserts. Lose my domes

I did not like the Juvenile 5 set up program.

What is the Juvenile 5 setup? I really thought going to an audiologist would be better and would get me connected to good hearing aids.

Juvenile 5 was tried by some people here who really liked it. It’s a setup program.

Showing my age. Memory. Lack of. I have had my ha specialist change a couple of times. First was a good change. This was not.

Generally….i need more mid and high frequencies and more volume. I thought Juvenile 5. Was going to do that

I wish some others would check in

I was trying to listen to a pre election debate tonight. I couldn’t understand. I tried 3 chairs. In each I tried sticking a finger in each ear. Significantly louder. Darn.

Cleaned my ears. They were clean

Took off the closed domes.

Changed wax guards. Made a difference.

If I sit carefully facing the tv at an angle. I hear better. No I don’t use the tv adapter. Long story.

Point is my hearing aids aren’t set up right.

I have a 4 day weekend. Only one all year.

Hope my answers help. I hope that we both get good changes made and can hear

Did you say you’re considering an audiologist instead of your ENT?

DaveL

No, my audiologist is part of my ENT group,

I stayed loyal to my dispensing Audi way too long

At least car companies have Regional Service Managers. I’ve appealed and got better service.

How do people find good audiologists?

With your hearing loss it would be hard to obtain benefits without earmolds with appropriate small vents.

It should be measured by e.g. ruler, but 3P seems too long and hearing aids may hanging very loosely on your ears. It’s worth to try e.g. 0P or 1P (numbers are for length, from 0 to 4; P is for Power receiver).

See here:

I am not sure if you could obtain better benefits from UP receivers, but it can only be determined by REM. For example 0UP receiver or 1UP receiver.

Yeah I’d go custom molds with a small vent with UP for now and in future loss, don’t worry/stress to much on REM it’s not the holy grail of fitting, just another tool in the tool box, getting UP will be more important and give you better results, P receiver will be getting saturated.

My Audi thought it appeared as though they were pulling on my ear. The wire was leaving an indent on the top of my ear.

Okay, comfort is another factor to consider. It should be as short as possible, but without causing painful sores.

In my case, it may cause indentation, but I have no discomfort or pain, and directivity and “s” sound hearing are noticeably better.
