Re: Step 3 – You don’t need to have the charger with you. Just push and hold the down side of the rocker buttons to power down the HAs. Then power the HAs back up for Step 15 by pushing and holding the down side of the rocker buttons.

And to speed things up, you don’t need to power down your phone. Just turn off Bluetooth or go into flight mode.

Thank you. Your information is very helpful. I’m in the trial period & talked with Phonak today and they sent “new” directions which did not include all the steps that you have given.

Here’s the rub. We tried to power down with the rocker switch, but to no avail with mine although it worked on my colleague’s. It just didn’t work on power up again. You are correct, it should work - but didn’t on mine.
Regarding the bluetooth, we opted out for a fail-safe method to be more precise.

Hi AGR.
Welcome to the forum and the fascinating world of HA’s. I hope the connectivity issue works for you. Please let us all know if the list helped.

There are a very helpful people on here and if you have any questions, just ask - no matter how daft you think the question is. We were all newbies once, and everyone remembers those days. :flushed:

That’s not good… how do you remove your HAs for any reason without having them screaming with feedback? For example, to replace wax filters. I ride a motorcycle and may have to remove mine several times a day for extended periods. They reside in a very small case in my pocket most of the day when I’m on a ride. I would not want to have to carry my charging case with me while on a ride. They can be damaged if they are in a constant state of open feedback.

My Samsung phone is slow to restart after powering off. I just tap the BT symbol and disable it. Much faster.

Hi Captain,
The setup listed above is for the initial pairing with phones. Once you have done this, of course pressing the rocker switch to switch off will work and on switch on again because the settings are saved and programmed. Therefore, there is NO need to refer to the above setup procedure. :slightly_smiling_face:

Understood. I’ve been through I initial setup multiple times over the past few months, having trialed a couple of different Phonak HAs from my Audiologist, while swapping back to my own KS9s at home. I just wanted to share the way that I do it. I think that it saves time. YMMV, of course.

And you need to hold the rocker down buttons for about three seconds to initiate power off. You will hear the low battery tone after you release the buttons ( both aids)
