Phonak acrylic or titanium slimtips

Hi,
I dont seem to have good luck with the domes so would like to get Phonak slim tips. Options are acrylic or titanium. I prefer titanium, but by Audiologist is telling me that for my type of hearing aid loss I cannot use titanium and should get acrylic. Is there some limitation for the type of hearing loss that prevents me from getting titanium slimtips?

Thanks,
AB

I am not aware of any limitations. I have both acrylic and titanium slimtips and find the acrylic slightly more comfortable (sample of one). I purchased two sets of Phonak slimtips when I got my hearing aids. My audiologist suggested that it might be good to have two sets in case one has to be sent for repair or adjustment (which has happened).

I’d suggest asking your audi why. From little bit of research I’ve done, acrylic molds are recommended for UP receivers but that seems unlikely since you’ve been making do in domes up to now. Your audiogram would help us conjecture, but your likely best answer would come from your audiologist.
