Philips TV Streamer and A/V receiver

First of all, I love my Philips 9050 hearing aids from Costco and the Speech in Noise program that has allowed me to fully participate in the in-office conversations. No longer having to guess what they were actual saying based on the words I was able to pick up.
Connecting the Philips TV streamer behind my Onkyo A/V receiver was a problem. I only have a single HDMI connection from the A/V receiver to the TV and the Optical connection back to the receiver for the times I am using the TV and route the sound to the A/V receiver.
Simple solution was route the optical cable in the Philips TV streamer and out to the Onkyo, but while it worked intermittently and the sound was way behind the audio from the speakers.
This solution works great if you only send the audio from the TV to an amplifier or soundbar, but not if you hook everything to the A/V receiver and send the Video from there to the TV.
Using the analog output for the 2nd zone from the Onkyo is turned off if the audio signal is 5+1 or higher and could not be used.
Having tested various converters to break out the audio from the HDMI signal had to be the solution, but it had to convert whatever audio came into a 2 channel audio output on the optical connection.
I did not want to reduce the video signal (4K @ 120Hz) only wanted to take the audio out over the optical connection to the TV streamer.
The Bytecc 8K HDMI Audio Extractor was the solution that worked perfectly.
Dolby digital, THX, etc. all clear and without any noticeable delay in my hearing aids.
The tiny switch on the Bytecc allows you to set the audio to 2 channels and still sends the full video and audio signal to the TV through its HDMI out port.
I purchased mine through Amazon for around $60.00. I used Amazon so that I could return it without any hassle in case it did not work (like some of the other audio adapters I tried and did not work)
As an additional benefit, it also works for the streamer receiver in the Onkyo that sends the audio in combination with the setting/selection screen to the TV.
No more extra loud TV sound to be able to hear the conversations clearly but very clear direct audio into my ears.
