Panasonic Hearing Aids

Have you seen or listened to the new Panasonic hearing aids?

I don’t know much about them. My practice was sent a packet on them and I was looking through it. Not enough information in there to make any judgment. Just a bunch of marketing fluff for dispensers and audiologists.

Maybe I should give the rep a call? lol

I do plan on doing that to find out about their technology. I was told that they’ve been building hearing aids since the 50’s. Just not in the U.S.

Just looked at them on line … and they look like other Panasonic products … decent quality, but generic. Far from the best. Panasonic does make some of the best Plasma TV’s. But most of their other electronics are just OK. I would relate their hearing aids more towards their radios and stereo systems … which are not in the audiophile range.
When it comes to hearing aids … I want the audiophile version, not the good but so-so ones. My hearing is more important than that.
On a side note … That square in the pocket one looks like a joke though, more of a toy than a serious device for the hearing impaired.

The most fascinating thing is their body aid the JZ Series. Seems like the programming software is in the unit but I don’t think they will make it easy for non-professionals to access it.

I just looked at the brochure of their models from the above website, which are not for the more severe and profound hearing losses. Doesn’t say anything about T-coil or DAI capabilities.

I’d be very surprised if this was the case. The build quality of the ones I’ve seen has been excellent.

The pocket worn device seems to be in a league of it’s own - one of the senior engineers from a large hearing aid distributor in the UK put it through it’s paces - he couldn’t get ANY distortion out of the unit even with ridiculous inputs and gain levels. Plus it’s rechargeable or runs on a standard battery.

Personally, if anything isn’t in their favour, it’s the fact that they don’t offer an ITE facility or a more powerful variety of the RIC. We’ll just have to see how they inted to bring the product to market.

The WH-216KZ is claimed to be useful for Moderate to Severe loss.

Any ideas for getting info on price/availability?

(After posting I noticed that the other thread with the same title (Hearing Aid Forum - Active Hearing Loss Community) has more recent information.)
