Pairing with Windows 11

Fortunately it would appear you’ve got lucky and also got something that has the right codec. With a hack I can get my laptop to pair, but no sound and the create device to handle the shows an error

This was super easy to set up and use, and seems to work well enough until I can figure out the LE Audio setup on my laptop (Dell Inspiron 14/5410, Windows 11 24H2)

I have a pre built Lenovo desktop computer with Bluetooth. I have paired it with my Phonak P70-UP aids and it drains the battery quickly so l had to get an adapter to convert 3.5 mm audio to toslink to my Phonak TV connector so it draws less power from the battery.

There was a recent update Windows 11 24H2 that supports BLE Audio.

I changed the OS to 24H2 but l doubt that it will draw less power. It’s the Bluetooth in my computer that’s is too loud for my aids so TV Connector is still better for me.

Go to your Windows menu bar and type ‘hearing devices’
and you will get a message that either says the Windows 11 you have will or will not support Bluetooth LE Audio hearing devices.

Like you, I have Starkey Edge AI’s and I do have them paired with my laptop.
The screenshot is from an older machine which doesn’t.

(and if you can’t get the machine to work, then get a FlooGoo FMA120 which is a miracle device.

I have it in my kit bag now, and I wrote a review of it here

My 13 month old “new” computer doesn’t support Bluetooth LE Audio hearing devices. Connection to Bluetooth PC is still very loud and draining the aid battery quickly so l still use the TV Connector.

It’s loud because it’s using Bluetooth LE Audio, but if it were configured to Bluetooth Classic, then it wouldn’t get that loud. I experience this when watching a movie on Netflix using my tablet and my hearing aids.
