I been doing my own Adjustments. How to do get these volume to be even in app and more volume.
i think that is a design flaw from Oticon and can not circumvented.
I have the same issue.
If your hearing loss is uneven, then the loudness Adjustment sliders in the app are also uneven.
I know that my right aids had to be boosted so that I hear sounds equally between my left and right aid. Most specially for speech understanding. But I don’t notice any difference in the app screen.
I have the Philips 9050, which uses a very similar app, and I also have a (small) difference in the app volume screen. (9 steps to max volume on one side, 10 on the other).
I have looked at the Philips programming software, and I see that it allows adjustment of the volume step size in the app. The step size is a number of db, not a percentage of volume. Given that there is a limit to how loud the HA can go, it makes sense that the number of adjustment steps would be less on one side when the gain level is higher to begin with.
For someone with a slight left/right difference like me, it wouldn’t make much difference if the steps were percentages instead of db. But for someone with a big l/r difference, using percentages would result in a significant imbalance when the volume is turned way up.
It can also happen if your hearing loss is even but the feedback management is limiting the headroom more on one side.
Thanks. I just want more volume on the aids it max at 2 and at times which l can go higher. How do you increase the volume on Genie 2. Do l touch the MPO.
for volume change
first select all complete lines/rows of all G values on the hearing aid side (left/right) you want to increase/decrease the volume.
then increase or decrease the values to your liking. up is louder
keep in mind that you dont select and highlight the MPOs and you need to unlink the L/R side , if you want to change one side only
Where do l find increase or decrease the values ?
You did not show your audiogramm , and you did not say what type of receivers are mounted onto your hearing aids.
- What accustic coupling do you have ? Custom molds , etc…
- What hearing aid models are you wearing ?
- What receiver strenght do you have on Left / Right hearing aid ?
- Could you post your audiogram view from Genie2 ?

The Help Text for Volume Range states the following:
For BTE SP and UP instruments you can adjust the volume range. The upper and lower range limits are independent of one another. The overall volume range depends on the selected step size. The default setting is 1 dB step size and -5 dB and 5 dB volume range.
You have the following options:
- For a 1 dB step size the maximum range is -10 dB to +10 dB. The upper and lower limits can be adjusted to values within that range. The default volume range is set to -5 dB and +5 dB.
- For a 2.5 dB step size the maximum range is -20 dB to 10 dB. The upper and lower limits can be adjusted to values within that range. The default is set to the maximum range.
Note that if the applied gain in the instruments is close to the feedback margin, the selected volume range may be restricted regardless of the indicated upper range.
