I have an Oticon TV adapter 3.0 which has been working perfectly with my Samsung 65" TV for many months. However I have just updated my TV to a new Samsung Model QE65S95DAT. My TV adapter now has got distorted sound on nearly all channels (curiously ITV & World Service are still OK)
Has anybody else experienced this? Any ideas for rectification please?
I have the Samsung Smart TV with my TV adapter connected by way of rhe fiber optical audio cable. I don’t have any issues with the sound. I have a few questions: have you checked your connections toake sure the connection are tight and if you are using the fiber optical cable that the tips of the cable are clean. Next try doing a rest of the TV adapter then repairing your aids to the Adapter.
My adapter is close to 6 years old now. My aids are the INTENT aids.
Thank you for your prompt response. I have rechecked the connections and also the fibre optic cable - all good, I have also tried re-pairing the hearing aids - no change. Everything was fine until the new Samsung arrived, so I suspect the problem lies with this particular model - it is very strange that one or two channels are perfectly clear, the distortion on the rest of the channels takes the form of a loud drilling noise. I will run it by Samsung and see if they can help.
Good News
The Samsung bot directed me to the ‘settings’ menu on the TV then ‘sound’
Looking at the sound options I can choose between either the inbuilt TV speakers or my new soundbar (which happens to be a Q-Symphony soundbar) When I switched sound from soundbar to TV speakers the interference magically stopped!
Problem solved.
I hope this knowledge of the conflict between this particular soundbar and the Oticon TV Dex proves useful
