I have the Oticon TV Adapter 3.0 and the volume isn’t very quiet when the volume is on 0 or 1 would have thought it would have been quieter. I’m using the Optical input.
Your audiologist can make adjustments with with Gene2 to your aids that may help that.
Hi,
I am not an audiologist just a hearing aid user.
I have Oticon More 1 hearing aids, an Oticon TV Adapter 3.0 and an iPhone 11 with the Oticon Companion App on it. I have used these very successfully for the past three years.
Please note that the TV Adapter is connected to my TV using the “Digital IN” plug not the “Analog plug” Look at the base of the TV Adapter to see the labels for these plugs.
This is what my experience has been with the volume control:
- The volume of what I hear in my hearing aids when using the Oticon TV adaptor does not change with changes to the volume on the TV as long as I have not muted the TV volume.
- Even if I set the volume on the TV to zero the volume of the sound I hear in my hearing aids is not impacted.
- I control the volume of the sound I hear in my hearing aids through the Oticon Companion App by setting the program on my hearing aids to “TV Adaptor / EduMic” and then using the volume control in the Oticon Companion App. NOTE: when you are on the “TV Adaptor / EduMic” page of the App there are two tabs, one for “Streaming” and one for “Surroundings”. You need to select the “Streaming” tab to control the volume of the TV sound in your hearing aids. The “Surroundings” Tab controls the volume in your hearing aids for the sounds around you which your hearing aid microphone picks up. (The latter allows you to turn down the sounds around you which may interfere with you hearing the TV sound. Like when someone is vacuuming in the same room as the TV.)
I hope that this information will be of use to you and allows you to get the full use of the Oticon TV Adapter. It really does work very well.
If you have any further questions please post a reply and I will try to help futher.
