Oticon Real dimensions

I’m unable to find the H-W-L figures in MM for the Real 1 (speaker in the ear) with a rechargeable battery built in, and the similar figures for the Real 1 with replaceable batteries.

Does anyone have access to such? What I really need is the width numbers to help me figure out which power source to order for my next set. I was unable to use the Opn S1 rechargeable at 10mm wide because of an ergonomic issue and had to go with the 9mm wide replaceable battery units. I’m wondering if the width has come down any since then.

Thanks to all.

It is very likely the same as the More models.

I have been told they are the same size. I cannot find any tech spec material on the More aids that gives me any guidance on width of rechargeable vs replaceable battery models. If someone has that data on the More units I’d be grateful if you’d post it.

I heard that the OPN S R and the More R rechargeable batteries are not the same. So while there may be a good chance that the More R and Real R use the same rechargeable batteries, based on the OPN S vs More experience, chances can be just as good that they aren’t.

The More R and the Real R use the same smart charger and the same desk charger as the OPNS, More and Real I understand that doesn’t mean they have the same battery.

If you are mainly interested in the width of the rechargeable Real minirite aids, I may be able to get my son to measure mine with his micrometer after I get them later this week.

If your son can get the width that would be most appreciated. Thanks.

@eliotb I did not get my Real aids today because one was defective, cutting out. We compared, and the Real is the same size as the More. The More measures 10 mm wide and 8 mm thick. Were these the dimensions you were looking for?

I believe so. If the 10mm width figure is for the rechargeable versions rather than the ones that take replaceable batteries, then that tells me what I need to know … i.e. the width has not changed since the Opn version.

Unless something has changed with my left ear, the width is 1mm too wide to comfortably wear all day. I got OPN rechargeables but had to swap them out for battery versions as my left ear hurt like hell at the end of the day from the extra bit of pressure on it. The 9mm one with 312 batteries was perfect.

I thank you for checking for me.

An update: I just heard back from Oticon: here’s what they told me: the unit that requires batteries is 7mm wide, and the rechargeable one is 6mm wide!!!

Here is the body of the message:

thank you for contacting Oticon Consumer Support. Following are the dimensions of our non rechargeable - MiniRITE T - and rechargeable - MiniRITE R:

miniRITE-T – 7mm W x 12mm D (13mm D with rocker switch) x 30mm L (not including speaker)

miniRITE-R - 6mm W x 12mm D (13mm D with rocker switch) x 27mm L (not including speaker)

The 7mm and 6mm dimension would be the distance between the head and the ear.
