Your audiologist can modify the t-coils program settings to enable the mics on your aids. On my aids the mics are set to be 5db less than the t-coil settings.
I don’t have the Gene2 software as I don’t own a windows computer. So i can’t help you, my audiologist set my aids up to do it, it sounds like your audiologist either doesn’t know the software properly or just is too lazy to do the proper job.
I assume that you have a NoahLink Wireless interface to use with the Genie 2 software. This option is found in the Fitting page under the Program Manager section as seen in the screenshot below.
Thank you. I’m not the OP but you really helped me, my Audi swears my More 1 do not have telecoil. I even pulled up the Oticon website but he keeps saying it’s not added to the aids anymore. I’m so done. I have a Noahlink showing up and have the software.
I’m fairly certain both the rechargeable and the disposable battery versions of the More all have the Tcoil option in them. If you choose the More 2 in Genie 2 and it shows the Tcoil programs in the pull down menu, then this proves that it has Tcoil in it.
The program T-coil is not correct as this is the option without the micro, if you want T-coil and micro than you need the MT program.
On the app you can then decice if you want to reduce the volume for the micro or not, I prefer this one because if I want no micro I simply can mute the micro
Found it. Awesome. I was one if the first over here to try that More. I guess at first this program might have been not available yet? My audiologist usually is a knowledgeable and experienced man.
But, I’m very happy to have found it. Awesome forum.
The program would need to have the Tcoil program option available or else it would render the Tcoil functionality of the hearing aid useless, which would be an unacceptable design flaw. So I’m pretty sure that it’s not because the Tcoil program option is not available yet before. I’m pretty sure that your audi is probably confused, maybe, because it’s hard to keep track of everything.
The OPN and the OPN S disposable batter version initially offer the tcoil option. But later on, both the OPN and the OPN S did offer a disposable battery version that also has tcoil in it. The OPN S rechargeable version also has the tcoil built-in. But going forward, the More and Real and now Intent versions, whether rechargeable or disposable battery version (not available in the Intent yet), they all have tcoil in them. So it’s likely that your audi might have used to dispense the non-tcoil versions of the OPN and the OPN S, and thus might have extrapolated (incorrectly) that the Mores don’t have tcoil while they actually do.
I think you misunderstand me. I have the telecoil option from the beginning. But only without the microphone turned on as well, which we initially could not find. Now I learned there is another program that does this. So it’s not just a setting, but a different program. Since I highly respect the knowledge of my audiologist, I assume this latter program has been added in a later version.
Ah yes I did misunderstand you then. It’s still weird that Oticon would not have the Tcoil & Mic program right from the get go, but it’s possible that that’s what it is.
They had it before, my older Oticon 7 years ago was set up with
Automatik1
Micro+T-coil
T-coil
because there was no app I needed to set up two programs for t-coil, seems that the audiologist was either not informed or has not informed her/himself, it’s like my old audiologist who could set this option M+T for my Starkey aid, I told him in 3 sessions that I need that he still said not possible, and when he was in vacation and I had to got to another one she could easly set up the right option
Finally set up the Genie software, noah link and had to buy a cheap window laptop and so worth the $500 (noah & laptop) to fine tune my HA. NO MORE FEEDBACK, my domes were wrong in the program (open and i use power domes) and turned on telecoil +mic that he swore was not in my Oticon More1. I can use my apple max headphones without feedback. Also dumped a couple of programs - comfort and music and added lecture.
Son1 has already claimed the laptop when I’m not adjusting my HA lol I love my Macs too much.
