Hello. I recently switched from Oticon OPN1 to Oticon More R. Now when I’m on the phone, my friends say they can barely hear me. I never had this issue with my OPNs.
Any idea how to help?

Are you using the microphones I’m the aids are the phone? I have the More1 aids and I still only use the phones microphone, because I don’t see the need to use the so called hands free when you still have to answer the call from the phone.
Check out this thread Oticon More hands-free
@Volusiano It is as if it was timed, spot on
“still have to answer the call from the phone” - cvkemp you don’t have to answer the call from the phone. See my posting of yesterday. Answering with voice command needs a careful placement of the swipe gesture but it works!
I usually have the phone near me, on my lap or just in my hand (not at my mouth). With the OPNs this was no issue, no complaints that people couldn’t hear me. Now with More, im told I sound like I’m under water or too far away.
I have Siri disabled for privacy reasons, I am a retired IT professional and most of my issues were spam, trojans, and viruses. I am always concerned with having issues like that.
Do you have the hearing aid microphones enabled on the iphone if so then your side of the calls are being heard by the ones you are talking to by the hearing aid microphones? There is only 2 choices now on and off.if set to off the the microphone on the iphone is used, if on them the microphone, on the aids are being used.
I have my hearing aids paired to my iPhone and can control the volume, etc… not sure where to check to see if microphone is enabled?
First you have to have hearing devices enabled in the iphone control panel. Then you can do a pull down from most any screen or app from the top right corner of the iphone screen and you will see the ear icon, tap it and scroll to the bottom of the popup screen and you will see ‘Mic Input’ it will either say off or on. I don’t remember which is default but I have my settings to off so it uses the iphone microphone.
That worked! I just turned it off and now they hear me again
cvkemp I definitely understand your concerns about Siri security. In my struggle with my poor hearing I decided to take the plunge and I am using Siri to help with hands-free use of my Oticon More HAs.
In addition to having Siri announce the caller (so I can decide if to answer the call or to ignore it and let it go to voice mail), I also use Siri to initiate calls hands-free (“Hey Siri, call so and so”).
One more point: the solution described in my write-up for hands-free answer with a voice command does NOT involve Siri.
I just don’t bother with hands free I am so use to answering with the phone anyway. I have worn Oticon 12 years with one form or another of Bluetooth connectivity.
