Oticon More next generation?

@ssa: I dunno … 12 13 14 15

Oticon Concrete, made with Concrete! (another word for real). Durability as a rock, like my trusty Oticon Dynamo

I don’t have Oticon/Genie but I do have Bernafon/OasisNXT which is similar to Oticon in term of hearing aids tier list.

There no new UP and SP model yet. Unless I miss something.

It has the same connectivity as in previous models so it has LE Audio Bluetooth technology. This was stated in the spec on their website. See below for a snippet.

The Oticon Real family includes fours styles. The miniRITE R, miniRITE T, miniBTE R and miniBTE T are available in three performance levels, nine colour options, and all feature state-of the-art connectivity, enabling direct streaming, hands-free calls and more.

iii Bi-directional streaming for certified Made for iPhone hearing devices is available with iPhone 11 or later, iPad Pro 12.9-inch (5th generation and 4th generation), iPad Pro 11-inch (3rd generation and 2nd generation), iPad Air (4th generation), and iPad mini (6th generation), with software updates iOS 15.2 and iPadOS 15.2 or later.

Nope that not Bluetooth LE Audio at all. That Apple’s proprietary MFI.

Doesn’t it use LE Audio though to connect to MFI and some Android devices? I thought it was classic Bluetooth that they didn’t have.

Bluetooth LE and LE Audio are two different protocol. Pretty sure iPhone has Bluetooth classic as well.

That made me recall this old gem.

What you stated was MFi which is Apple’s proprietary audio over Bluetooth LE. That is not the new LE Audio standard in the question.

No. It uses the proprietary MFi and ASHA protocols over BLE. LE Audio is part of the new BLE standard, not proprietary.

Okay. Good to know :+1:

The aids, except for Phonak, use Bluetooth LE to transport the proprietary protocols. You are correct that they do not have BT classic. That is why devices such as the connect clip exist.

Yep. I have the Connect Clip if needed but don’t often use it. Just connect to my iPhone and iPad usually.

I use mine to connect to my computer for virtual meetings.

I used to do that but moved to my iPad Pro for Teams meetings. Works much better for me and just add my laptop as a secondary device if I need to share anything.

Trust me LE Audio is going to change your life by making your post BT 5.2 more accesible!
You should not settle for a hacky workaround solution such as a connect clip.
You guys need to be more forward thinking and think about how to make devices communicate without any limitation…
LE Audio is the best thing in hearing aid innovation since sliced bread because it lets any device communicate to HA. Like your smart toaster will be able to communicate and signal your toast is ready… (joke)

Unfortunately my workplace provides me with a MacBook. Before that I had a Windows laptop.

Name me one currently available model that does LE Audio. Also need laptop models too. I doubt I can convince my employer to buy me one even if it exists. That is why I get my More 1 aids tomorrow.

Agreed it will be great when it gets here. However most of us want something that works now. I’ve been waiting on improved BT since 2018 when I bought a BT 5 phone anticipating something better would be out soon. I’ve just purchased a BT 5.3 phone with hopes that it will eventually support LE Audio, but I’m not holding my breath. It should however still support BT Classic and work with KS9s. I use a fair amount of 312 batteries, but at 17 cents apiece it’s not a big deal.

I can’t answer that but I highly recommend to wait for the Oticon Real, it will probably be a firmware update to get the LE Audio.
