I will be getting a pair of Oticon More 1 Minirite, my present cell phone a Galaxy S7 Android Vs 8.0.0 is not directly supported.
Oticon’s states the More was designed for iPhone but will work with Android Vs 10 or later with BT 5.0.
I like the Samsung Galaxy Android phones but would consider getting a compatible iPhone verses another Galaxy if there is a advantage or if it works better.
I also do not want to use the Oticon Clip for phone conversations.
The More BT connection with the iPhone is a world more superior than Android. I switched from Samsung to iPhone for this very reason.
Oticon is supposed to come out with an update next week that will allow iPhone to be handsfree (two way mics so you won’t have to talk into your phone for the other person to hear you). This will be an MFi only update for now (you’ll need an iPhone 11 / iOS 15.2 or later, I believe).
Apologies for hitchhiking on to this thread but do you know what Oticon models will get that feature? I have a set of OPN S 3 miniRITE’s and I’ve been looking to get the Apple Watch 7 but can’t seem to find any info on whether or not the aids will work with the Watch,
Thanks, that’s the information I am looking for. I have heard a little of BT 5.2 and duplex conversation if that’s the right term for it.
Still looking for the iPhone with BT 5.2 I see a iPhone 11 with a OS ios13 A13 Bionic Chip and BT5.0
The 13 Pro Max has iOS 15 but still only BT 5.0
Can you tell me what model iPhone you are using with the Oticon More
I have the IPhone 13 mini and it will work with the the new firmware when it comes out which adds hands free phone calls. According to the I formation I have seen hands free will work on IPhone 11, 12, 13 and above
Okay, thanks. I forgot to add a critical point in my previous post. Will the aids I have, work with a cellular-equipped Watch alone, without needing to have the iPhone nearby?
I should add that my aids provider said there was an update coming out in a few weeks, I guess that’s the one you’re speaking of although my provider didn’t have any details of what the update will include.
Is there a document available that lists what the upcoming update consists of?
Using iPhone 13 Pro. Previously had Samsung Galaxy S20+.
There are other threads dedicated to the impending arrival of LE Audio, and if I recall correctly, the Mores will not be future-proofed for it – not sure any brand is, possibly the Starkey Evolv. The update next week has nothing to do with BT5.2 as far as I know. iOS is simply updating their software to allow mic communication to go 2 way.
Glad I checked in on the forum. Thank you all
Galazy is out, will get the iPhone.
IPhone 13 mini sold by boost mobile sells for $730 the iPhone 13 for $ 830 both with 128 GB
the iPhone 11 with iSO 13 and 64GB sold by Boost is $350
According to the post By cvkemp the “Latest Oticon 2-Way support” they all should work after the Oticon update available after Feb 24 2022
I presently have the Starky Muse I have tried the cumbersome SurfLink Mobil. it’s a pain to get going for phone calls unless it’s left running. I liked the way it sounds for me but the person on the receiving phone tells me they like it better using the phone mic rather then the HA mic or maybe it’s SorfLink mic… Hope iPhone does better.
can you clarify this? Does this mean that the hearing aid is picking up my voice on a two way? As of now streaming phone calls into the aids is one way only. Android or iPhone.
Good thing I saw this. I am supposed to pick up a Connect Clip today.
I believe as of tomorrow that the More aids will be able to have full hands free capability but the aids have to be updated by your audiologist. The issue I see with this is the same as hands free using the connect clip the mic on the connect clip does nothing to filter out background noise and I fear that will also be the case with using the hearing aid mic. And the connect clip is great for connecting to computers with bluetooth or tablets, for streaming. I cannot live without my connect clip. But I can easily do without full hands free. I am concerned that the update will take away my capacity to use the iPhone mic which is great at filtering out background noise.
As cvkemp mentioned, and to confirm what you’re asking, yes, it means the hearing aid mic will pick up your voice and send it to the other end of the line. The official announced date for the update is Oct 24, but it may appear some folks in Europe got it today. Also, this is iPhone only (iPhone 11 / iOS 15.2 and later). Androids will not get this update.
