Hello, I have a Oticon Intent 2 with openbass dome but I would love something that give me less occlusion.
In Oticon Genie with my audiologist we can not find a way to select the old open domes in the fitting section.
There is a way to adapt it anyway?
For my hearing loss would you suggest me VAC+ or NAL 2?
Thank you all in advance
Hi there, with you loss open is not exactly the best option, the occlusion can be dealt with by using custom molds with the correct sized vent, acoustics are chosen at beginning of the fitting, are you saying Genie2 no longer allows to change this?as for VAC+ or NAL 2 you can have different programs set for you to try.
Less Occlussion than the OpenBass are the open ones but, based on your audiogram, you may get feedback with them unless the gains are set low as @tenkan explained.
I love my openBass domes and they do not give me occlussion (I truly dislike the occlussion effect). How long have you been using them? Any other type of dome is going to give you more occlussion (except for open domes of course).
Yup, old open domes are no longer selectable in Genie2 2025
As @tenkan suggested, you definitely require custom molds, based on your loss.
Occlusion is minimized by proper venting.
Oticon allows up to 4 programs to select, so have your audi set P1 for VAC+, and P2 for NAL 2.
If you want try something else add DSL v5, too. Try each out for a few days, and pick your winner!
I have VAC+ for P1, which is my general program, and DSL 5 for P2, which is my custom music program.
