Oticon Intent aid stopped connecting / responding to button

My left Oticon Intent aid has stopped connecting via Noahlink Wireless or Bluetooth. I cannot restart it, as it is not responding to button clicks or switching itself off when placed on the charger. Is there a way to factory reset it, or do I need to wait for the battery to be flat?

Your best bet is take your aids to your audiologist. And get them repaired.

It restarted itself after a few hours, and is now accepting connections again. I’ll take them to my audi if it happens again.

If it has done it once it will more than likely do it again. The nect time it may not recover. The audiologist should be able to run diagnostic test to determine if there is a problem.

I had a situation where a bad connection to the NoahLink Wireless left my Intent1s in a similar state. Thought about having to leave the battery go flat for them to reboot on their own since putting them in the charger would not help reset them and the regular power down would not work. Apparently they never actually turn off (for example, they report as charging while on the charger indicating a persistent wireless connection to the phone)

Found out that holding the power button down for 30 seconds results in a hard reset. The programming is still there but that is the equivalent of a cold boot.

Hope that helps.

press and hold the power button for about 45 seconds, that should work. This issue happens with my Intents from time to time, and every single one of them was resolved with a hard reset.

Correct me if i’m wrong but i don’t think Oticon Genie has a factory reset option. I was actually searching the forum for this very thing. Strange because i’m sure Phonak and ReSound do have it and i was kinda expecting Oticon to have it as well.

Hello! Could you please help me? I was updating my Oticon Intent 1 through Genie. One hearing aid updated successfully, but the other encountered an error. Now, its green LED is blinking, and it doesn’t connect to Genie (the program doesn’t recognize it).

Tried holding the button for 45 seconds. The LED turns off for a few seconds, then stays on for a few seconds, and then starts blinking again. Genie doesn’t detect it either.

Has anyone faced a similar issue? What should I do?

Hi, were you able to bring that hearing aid back to life? If not, it sounds like what you’re experiencing is a bit different and more serious—you may have bricked it during the update process. From what I’ve read here, if that is the case, only Oticon can help.

I agree they probably need service. Having said that, it’s odd to me that Oticon may be using the green color to indicate an error. Can you confirm that this blinking happens outside of the charger? The one other thing to try is to let the hearing aids run out of power and charge them again. If you need them quickly then a visit to the audiologist is probably your best bet.

Another possibility is moisture in the battery or the hearing aid itself. I once had that blinking green light on my More and was able to fix it by opening the battery door and drying it. Maybe try running a dehumidifier cycle?

Check the receiver connection. This is a well-known issue of Intents.

What happens to the receiver connection?

it can happen, that the the receiver wire is not fully inserted into the hearing aid body of the Intent hearing aid, and thus preventing the full contact of receiver and hearing aid. So you need to make shure that the end of the receiver wire make full contakt to the pins inside of the hearing aid body.

It turned out that this was not the case. I talked to this man, and he told me everything. They tried to reconnect the connector, and it didn’t help. There is a chip inside the connector of the new receivers. It is this chip that creates problems.
