Oticon intent 1-R fell out

I’m new here and pretty basic. I very clearly had both hearing aids in correctly. At the movies, hearing aid fell out. I found it in hair. Any suggestions? This is not even with walking or running, I simply do not wish to pay close to 400 dollars for lost hearing aid that do easily falls out. I cannot get in touch with audio or their help desk , which is an an additional problem overall. Frankly I should make another topic on this matter.

I have big Ultra Power Oticon Aids and when I wear my hair down (I’m female), my hearing aids can get caught in my hair even when I don’t move.

Wearing such a small device and likely you’re wearing domes, they can fall out more easily if getting caught in your hair.

I wear Oticon INTENT1 aids with custom ear molds. I keep my hair military buzz cut short, something I have done my whole life. I haven’t had issues keep my aids in place. The ear molds are such they definitely stay in place.

Thanks-Precisely I have domes.I’m willing to get some sort of retainer or attachment. Do you know if there is such a thing.?

It’s my understanding that dome allow more ambient sound for those with mild hearing loss. But yes I understand that molds may be more stable.

I started out wearing ITE aids, I did have a set of aids 15 years a go with domes for 30 days, I told my audiologist to get me ear molds or a set of ITE aids. The domes flat won’t stay in place.

@docspaniel

Do you have the Oticon Ear Grips attached? They are the tails in the picture.

I believe Altho not 100% sure they aren’t standard on Oticon HAs.

Thanks. I actually saw these on Amazon. I will try to contact someone to figure out how these work!

I would suggested have properly fitted ear molds rather than bud fitting s.

Discuss with your audiologist. Your dome MIGHT be too small and a slightly bigger dome might stay in better. Also the ear grip or concha lock might help. Audiologist should offer to add these for free. I’m assuming you have good low frequency hearing and are not eager to go with custom molds. Custom molds with a skeleton lock are great for staying in place.

You folks are super on this forum. I agree that the domes may be too smal at a 6. And you are quite right, I have preserved low frequency. And yep I’m not keen on the custom molds. I did more research than I would have liked to last night and indeed I thought oh wow there is a middle step between the domes and custom molds. So grips may be the thing. The HA on right side now fell out five times. I wore them to a loud ish banquet. Whoosh -glad it did not travel far! Be well

Never had a problem with Oticon Intents. Is the pigtail thing to keep in ear installed. Have your supplier put them on - they should have done that when you first got them.

Nope. No pigtail thing. I do have an appt next week Thanks

Pigtails get my vote. They work for me running and playing softball. And if you get really worried about them falling out, there are hearing aid clips with lanyards on amazon that also work great.

I just got Jabra Pro 30’s at Costco today and they have the pigtails.

It seems to hold the aids securely in place

I had the pigtails installed and dome size increased and they just fell out again…! i think i will need to have the lanyard thing!

My apologies to forum folks. I think I misposted. I now have the pigtails and dime size was minced from 6 to 8. Oddly fell out again. TIL I get to see audiologist who is wonderful but in busy urban setting, where would I get the clips so that HA does not, let’s say, fall to the ground. I might get the custom mold… but again I don’t want to lose HA until this possibility is visited by audiologist.

If your domes are falling out it is because they are too small. You need a larger size. Try 10mm

Yep… went from a 6 to 8… Much work to be done to get a proper fit! Audio is a good person thanks!
