Oticon INTENT (1) and Dome option and might be receiver?

Hello,

I have posted a few times here about the previous and recent hearing aids. And now I want to share my personal experience with INTNET w/dome ….

First of all, I used OPN1, MORE, Real (for 2 months) and then Intent. I could feel the difference very easily when I upgraded hearing aids and I am happily confident for the future technologies, maybe one day one-day disposal hearing aids? Who knows ?
Anyhow, the downside for my hearing aids (intent) is, poor audio quality. (Technically, I got the Intent after returning REAL as soon as INTENT is available. Unfortunately, I received the Intent by mail after fitting by Audiologist based on the previous hearing test, which means I couldn’t get the specific fitting for the INTENT)
I am planning to go to Audiologist near me here to ask for fitting and hearing test. Otherwise, a couple of months later, when I visit to hometown, I am planning to stop by Audiologist there.
So my buggiest frustration is music sound. (I am using the OPENBASS dome for Right ear, and Double Vented Bass Dome for left ear on top of 85 receiver, but as you know, the sound quality of OPENBASS dome is moderate or less, especially high-pitch sound such as female vocal, viola and so on.

Until 1000 HZ, 25 db and from 2k to 8k, 70 db for both ears)

Thankfully, I have Double Vented Bass Dome for Left and I copied the information from Left to Right to use Double Vented Bass Dome. The sound quality was way better but I felt the music sound was less surrounding from the multiple speakers.

Right now I don’t want to screw it up, so I am using as received with OPEN BASS DOME for Right and DOUBLE VENTED BASS DOME for left until seeing an Audiologist. Hopefully the test and fitting, especially REM can help for the better sound overall. (Personally, I want to use the Double Vented bass dome for both ears. Before I preferred OPEN BASS DOME due to the opened feeling but now I think I might need to move on).

I am wondering, if anybody has changed the receiver and could feel the difference or improvement for the music and sound quality ? Also, I want to bring up this to Audiologist to get the some advice later.

Final impression : it might be better over REAL but not significantly at all. 4D sound technology sounds very unique and game-changer but that shouldn’t be sole purpose for the decision for the purchase. For me, I was ready to pay for the better quality and I am happy for that and I am in the middle of adjusting to make it better.

As soon as I am able to adjust and have a new fit, I will post for the your record.

My opinion only you would be served better with custom ear molds. And the aids should be adjusted for you with the sids in your esrs. There are a number of extra settings in the INTENT aids over the Real aids. Again my opinion your audiologist was lazy you should have been fitted in the office.

I think the biggest variable here is how the Intent was programmed. I can see a clinic mailing pre-programmed hearing aids to patients so they can use something until they can come in for a proper fitting session, possibly those who live really far away. But that should certainly be communicated at any rate.

85 receivers and double vented domes would be my initial choice, but earmolds can be nice as well, so long as we are careful about venting.

I wonder why you’re using different dome types when your audiogram is showing a very symmetrical hearing loss?

Also, are you using the Speech Rescue frequency lowering technology? It seems like you might benefit from it (with the configuration 2.4 for the lowest destination region). You can put it on a second program and toggle back and forth between the General program and the one with the Speech Rescue to see if you like it or not.
