Oticon Engage user experiences

Having previously used Phonak Cros hearing aids I’m really pleased with some aspects of these - particularly as they are more powerful. I like the Bluetooth and iPhone Companion app control functions - but, particularly as I’m new to them, I’m not 100% sure whether having moulds is really helping my hearing.
For example: when my mouth is closed I can hear myself breathing, I can’t hear conversations while I’m eating and the effect of the moulds feels like having a head-cold. Is this normal? Would I be better off reverting to standard ear pieces?
I would like greater control of the sound - something like a graphics equaliser on a hi-fi but I understand from the audiologist there is a limit to their ability to override the manufacturer’s presets. Has anyone any thoughts on my experiences? Thanks
