Newbie here. Fitted with Philips 9050s at Costco a couple of weeks ago, happy with them.
Was first fitted with open domes, and now trialing (and loving!) the closed domes. Enough that I want to order some.
If I understand correctly, under the covers the 9050s are Oticon Intents. I see on Amazon that there are a ton of domes available, both “real” Oticon and 3rd-party “Oticon replacement domes”.
If I wanted to buy some spare domes… what do I need to know? Within the real Oticon ones, how do I know if the domes are right for the 9050s? (I’ve seen specs saying things like “compatible with 65db and 85db”, or “compatible with all Oticon mini-RITE”… etc.
Also, are the 3rd-party/unbranded ones of any value, or should I stick to real Oticon?
thanks, have done and they gave me one spare pair of each. But… I’ll be traveling a bunch over the next several months, not always near a Costco, and I always carry spares of (e.g.) contact lenses, asthma inhalers, etc, so want to add domes to the kit.
I guess the main question is… if they’re Oticon brand, will they work with my 9050s or is there more I need to know?
Both Oticon and Philips use the same domes, HOWEVER not to use an Open dome (which fits) open bass dome - if that was in fact what it was prescribe. The Open Bass in theory allows to have higher gain in the high frequencies
They may have given you only one pair of each style because they weren’t sure which one you would ultimately choose. When I ask for domes at Costco, they usually give me a little bag full of them.
