Oticon Connect Clip in use with Airpods via Dual Audio on Android

I recently got an Oticon Connect Clip to use my OPN on the Android Samsung Note 8. I also have a set of Apple Airpods which can also be used with the Note 8.

I found out that with the Note 8, I can set up for Dual Audio output, where I can set up Bluetooth devices to be connected to the Note 8 in parallel. This would be ideal if I want to play audio on both my OPN (via the ConnectClip) and the Airpods at the same time.

In theory, if I can play both simultaneously, then I get the best of both world, high frequency amplification from my OPN and low frequency bass from my Airpods. But unfortunately, in practice, there’s a slight but noticeable delay between the sound from the Airpods and the sound from the OPN. Otherwise, it would have been a really cool wireless option for great audio streaming.

I’ve looked into ways to sync up the two sounds to avoid the latency, but it doesn’t seem like there’s a solution.

I’ve also looked to see if I can get Dual Audio capability on my iphone 7 Plus, but it looks like I can’t. I think the iPhone X has Bluetooth 5. But it doesn’t look like Apple has decided to provide Dual Audio on the iPhone X.

I wonder if there’s any techie on this forum who may know of a solution to this issue? Either way, sync up the audio on the Note 8, or know whether Dual Audio support is on the iPhone X. Thanks.

Pretty sure that’s a Samsung feature, but maybe there are apps for other Android devices. I just switched from my Note 8 to a Google Pixel and noticed the Pixel only streams to a single device at a time. It has a nice feature for easy selection of which device should play, but none of the options are dual like they were on the Samsung.

Thanks, that’s interesting to know that it’s only a Samsung thing. I thought that this is a feature available in Bluetooth 5.0, so if a device has Bluetooth 5.0 support, Dual Audio is possible. Apparently the manufacturer has to decide to support it as well.

It would have been so cool to be able to sync up the Airpods with the hearing aids. Then I can finally stream wirelessly and be able to enjoy the full spectrum of the audio range fitted to my loss.

Seems to be a Samsung Galaxy S8 or Note 8 thing.
