Oticon - Audiogram not stored in HAs?

Connected my Xceed’s that were programmed at the hospital.

My audiogram didn’t appear within my software, in the audiogram area.

Is that normal for Oticon? It isn’t stored in the HAs?

Oticon does not carry audiogram details from hearing aids to a new client. You can enter the audiogram details and that will be flagged as a settings difference. Though, if this is your first time connecting your hearing aids to the client then you will already have a settings mismatch.

So choose your hearing aid settings as a starting point and at the end save to both database and hearing aids. This will put the database and hearing aids timestamps as matched (with or without your audiogram details).

Yeah that’s a bit different,a bit disappointing for us DIY’s, I guess your going to have to enter it manually, hopefully it’s exactly the same as what’s stored in the Xceeds otherwise some kind of mismatch will probably pop up wanting to do a recalculation or something!but your still able to make adjustments without entering it I wonder?

No the mistmatch is based on timestamps, so if you choose the hearing aid settings then no recalculation will take place (with or without an audiogram added to the client).

ETA: When in doubt or if you just want to double-check, then save a clip of your gain settings beforehand. Like this;

Ok that’s good to know.

I think it works like this;

  • Your paper audiogram (or a digital version) is used to input your hearing loss into the fitting software.
  • Alternatively in-situ can be used to enter your hearing loss into the fitting software.

Once your settings are calculated (based on a default-or-chosen fitting formula) then your audiogram or in-situ measurements are never used again. That is never used again, unless you specifically instruct the fitting to start over with a new audiogram or with new in-situ measurements.

So the copy of your audiogram that is stored (in the hearing aids, or in the database, or in both) is merely documentation. Some fitting software stores that documentation in the hearing aids. Oticon does not. However, because it is merely documentation then it really doesn’t matter.
