Any idea when the Oticon App is going to be update? (I have an iPhone.)
Would love to be able to ‘save’ settings…i.e…a setting for church, sports games, movies, loud restaurants, etc.
I believe I am using the Oticon ‘Companion’ app version 1.5.2

You can’t add custom programs from the Companion app,
Those programs are added by your fitter in the Oticon Genie 2 fitting software, and you can select them using the app,or the buttons on the HAs.
Idk if you can also change programs from the iPhone control center, as I use android.
That is something that I don’t ever see Oticon ever adding to their aids or apps.
By the way I wear the Oticon INTENT1 aids and my aids only have the default program. This is by my preference. I put my aids on in the morning and forget about them. I seldom even make any volume adjustments. No I don’t set at home. I wear them to the grocery store, restaurants, church, concerts, movies, meetings and lectures. I do some traveling and visiting large reunion crowds. I ride a motorcycle and drive with the windows down. I love fresh air. I also hike and walk forest trails. I love the sounds of nature.
Yes the aids can be fine tuned to accomplish all of that
It takes patience and a dedicated relationship between patient and audiologist.
There are settings that5 are foir the user, like the one pictured here. Many HA companies allow you to adjust the Equalization…and then the user ‘save’ it as one of a few presets with a name/use.
This depends a LOT on the technology level of the hearing aid . You have the top of the line Intent 1 which has multiple programs that its built in OS can switch to automatically.
one of my hearing aids is an Infinio 30 (lowest technology level , equivalent to the Oticon Intent 4). The I30 only has two programs : quiet and speech in noise (this means the HA will only switch between two modes automatically). For example: if I’m listening to music, the OS will switch to speech in noise, not a music setting.
The I30 performance in noise is not good but you can manually create a program that enables the noise suppression to the max , modify mic functionality, sharpness , increase loud vs soft plus an equalizer . With a manual program I created , the performance of the I30 in loud places is actually good . It’s almost like having the fitting software @ your phone.
This is a Phonak feature that I truly love. Maybe it is not necessary at the level of the $7K HA but for the lowest tech levels, it is incredibly useful to have manual adjustments.
Plus some of us just love to play with our toys .
I never bother with the equalizer I don’t need it.
The equalizer saved me in numerous video conferences when the other parties had poor miking…
If @oticon is reading this, please: Why can we change the volume without unlocking our phones (Android), but to switch programmes we have to unlock the phone? Please make both possible with a locked phone.
I just double checked, I have the Samsung S23 with Android 15 and I can change volume and programs from the lock screen.
You can on your hearing aids uses the buttons on the aids. If your audiologist has disabled them then have them enabled by your audiologist.
I can mute/unmute and change volume, but I can’t change programs when the phone is locked. I am using a Pixel 3a on Android 12, but I don’t think the device or Android version would affect that functionality.
EDIT: On my phone this was caused by the setting “Show sensitive content only when unlocked” under “System⇾Privacy”. I would question whether the list of programs (without names, just P1|P2|P3|P4) is sensitive information, but I’m glad I can set it so that I can switch programs.
I have Android 15 and U can change change programs. All I have is the default program, the TV Adapter or EDUMIC, and the Remote microphone. Even though I have a severe hearing loss, my aids are adjusted so I don’t need the extra programs.
Getting O/T here, but how do you use a remote microphone with Oticon? The Connect Clip?
The connect clip or the EduMic.
Can you point the mike of the Connect Clip at somebody in a noisy situation (I mean somebody who is right in front of you) or does that person have to wear the Clip?
It is more of a personal mic the person could wear that you want to hear better. It does pick up a lot of background noise.
Thanks, that is really helpful!
