Oticon app not working

Hi, I have a relative with Oticon hearing aids who uses the app to change the settings. The app has suddenly stopped communicating with the hearing aids, but looks fine in itself. I would appreciate basic troubleshooting steps to pass on to try and fix this. I would usually delete and reinstall the app then repair the aids. Does this cover it?

Which Oticon App have they be using?

There’s a new App called Oticon Companion App.

I don’t know. I looked at it but then they seemed to get logged out and couldn’t get back in. Is there a login for it and could it have stopped working due to needing app updating?

You don’t need a login for use of Oticon App.

More than likely need to either reboot the phone, or forget the aids and pair the aids again after rebooting the phone. It also depends on tje phone. One simple thing is to disable Bluetooth on the phone and then wait about 15 seconds then enable the Bluetooth

Thanks for the answers, I will pass it on. It’s frustrating not to have been able to fix it.

The older (first) app Oticon On was outphased a year ago , and may work anymore.
You need to install the successor app Oticon Companion from app-store.

Thank you for the link, hopefully it can be sorted out. I am not there to help so it’s been useful to get this information.

could be that the Oticon hearing aids need a firmware update too.
Your relative should ask his/her hearing aid specialist, if the aids need a new firmware.
