My Oticons are shutting down after just a few hours of use. I have had them for several months and began logging the battery life a couple of months ago. When I realized that they are only lasting a maximum of 20-30 hours I had my audiologist send them back for analysis.
They came back and the audiologist said they had been replaced, but the last two pairs of batteries since then have lasted just 18 and 24 hours. Before handing them back to the audiologist, I had written to Oticon and they said the batteries should last from between 115 and 140 hours.
I am using Rayovac Proline 312A 1.45 volt batteries, which my contact at Oticon said was correct.
I don’t have any ideas, but I am on trial with them… and the batteries they gave me lasted over a week. I just put new batteries in and expect to have them last well beyond me returning them because I hate these things!!
it all depends… how much of the available power are you using? how much streaming or bt are you doing? I going to assume you read the below in the user manual.
Turn off your hearing instrument by opening the battery door slightly until a “click” is felt.
it might be worth a shot to try some Power One batteries.
I have had a pair of Agil Pros for about 2 years. For the first 20 months batteries lasted a minimum of 10 days and frequently out to 14 days. Daily usage of the aids was about 8 hrs a day. About 4 months ago, my audiologist increased the volume especially on the right side. Now I wear the aids about 14 hours a day. With the increased output and usage, my batteries last about 8 days. I have used Rayovac Prolines since I got the aids.
I think I will take them back again. The fact that I wear them just part time can’t be an issue, can it? I am careful to open them fully before returning them to the case and I have never opened the case and found the the units even close to being closed.
7-8 days for me with Agil Pro and Power One or Renata Maratone - Zinc-air batteries start depleting as soon as you take the little sticky tabs off the batteries.
