Has anyone tried an OTC hearing device and found it sounds realistic while playing acoustic ground piano? I searched for over two years and settled on white X moment 440 which is the” Sort of best” Sound quality of playing acoustic grand piano. Be aware on this topic I’m specific about how Hearing devices represent live playing of acoustic grand piano…. Setting aside listening to recordings or playing digital piano.
Does anyone have hopefully good reports wearing an OTC device and sitting down at an acoustic grand piano?
Slightly off topic: I would say an acoustic grand piano would be the ultimate test for the ability of hearing aids to amplify music faithfully.
Hey! Just finding this post, and I’m sort of struggling with the same question. How do the widex hearing aids make the acoustic grand piano sound?
I believe @colorrama88 was referring to Widex Moment 440 prescription aids.
Widex is considered the leader in Music reproduction, so a safe choice, but the problem is they haven’t been updated recently to compete with Oticon and Phonak.
None of these are OTC, but you may wish to read reviews on Sony and Sennheiser (Sennheiser is owned by Sonova which manufactures PhonaK) OTC aids.
Just click on the Hearing Aids icon at top left of the page to read reviews and ratings.
Cool, thanks for the response! I’m a piano player struggling to find a way to make the instrument sound good again. I can restore the frequencies on my digital keyboard while wearing headphones but I’m also trying to find something for the acoustic piano. I’ve tried the 3DME by asi audio as well as the AirPods Pro so far. I’ll check out the reviews of the ones you mentioned, thanks so much.
You’re welcome. Should you go the RX route we have a lot of info on programming for music.
OTC’s are probably less flexible, but with your loss they may do fine, Good listening!
