I just bought a new Galaxy Z Flip4 cell phone - looks kinda like those devices Cap’n Kirk used to have Scotty “Beam me aboard!”
Under Settings–>Other call settings–> Hearing aid compatibility - is the ability to “adjust your phone’s audio so it works better with hearing aids.”
Is this option any better than what I do now, which is to just stream all calls through Bluetooth?
While I LOVE the look and handling of this phone, it appears that I can ONLY have ONE set of Phonak aids connected to it - so I can’t have both my Marvel and Life aids connected (but only ONE paired and active for BT). In fact, the sly little demon tells me that these aids are already connected to an “older phone” - which is correct! Until I actually REMOVED both aids from that One+ cell phone, I was unable to have either one connected to the Galaxy cellphone.
I’ve been switching back and forth between my Life and Marvel aids every few days what with the Titannic SINKING of my brand new Life aids that no longer work thanks to a couple swims in the pool. So I’m wondering if anyone else out there with this phone also finds that you can only have ONE pair of Phonak aids connected to the Galaxy, and that pair of aids can NOT be connected to any other phone on the planet - even if that phone is turned off or tossed in a dumpster.
Something is screwy here. You should be able to connect the aids for regular BT to lots of devices. I think marvel does have a two pairing (one connected) limit. Paradise has 8 pairing, 2 active connected limit. IN THE APP you get one set of aids. But you should be able to make calls and watch video etc with both sets of aids paired. Pick one set at a time to be active.
Actually, with Samsung it should be possible to connect and watch video with both sets of aids at the same. Or aids for Bluejay and headphones for her husband.
That’s exactly how it used to work on my One+ cell phone. But unless I’m missing something here, I’m unable to have more than ONE single Phonak set of aids even show up in the list of BT available devices. My Wahoo Kickr, in-house music system, other stuff, but only ONE pair of Phonaks.
OK! MEA CULPA! I just had to power ON and OFF the second pair of aids as well as turn BT ON and OFF twice in order for the second pair of Phonak aids to show up in the list.
Now BOTH my Marvels and Life aids show up as paired, and it appears I can indeed stream calls or audio from my Galaxy Z Flip phone by selecting the line item of that model from the list.
Annoyingly, BOTH sets of aids are named “R-Phonak hearing aid” in the list, but I guess I’ve now got them both paired AND connected for streaming.
Thanks SO much to all for prodding me to just keep trying here. I’m impatient by nature … especially when it comes to things I need to stream to my cinderblock ears.
