Old Hearing Aid Questions

I have an old set that is PHONAK AUDEO B90-312 with RIC plastic shell moulds. Does anyone know if the RIC moulds can be changed to the regular soft dome type rather than the 3d printed plastic moulds?

It depends

  • are the shell molds open (hollow sleeve) , that you can reach and extract the receivers (speakers)
    or
  • are the receivers enclosed in the molds (power mold / cshell)

If the receiver is not enclosed inside the shell (mold) then you can pull that part out of the custom mold with a small pair of pliers.

And vice versa you insert (push) the new receiver with the complete cable with the pliers into the red holder inside the mold.

Note: The receiver and wire are non Phonak parts. your Phonak receiver wire look different.

If you can remove the receivers from the mold then the molds can be replaced/ changed to a regular soft dome type.
If you change from molds to domes you also should change this new setup in the fitting software.

Yes. But a power receiver would not be appropriate for your hearing loss and an ultra power receiver is only available in an encased mold.

For not much money you can buy new receivers and put whatever domes on them you need.

You just need to know your size wires and what power level receiver you need.

Cant any receiver be ordered with the c-shell?

Yes, any power receiver can be ordered with a cshell. I just expect that the OP has a UP receiver given their loss.

Are you trying to fit these aids for yourself?
If you need ear molds for that loss, Lloyd’s Hearing Aids can help you with custom ear molds.

As mentioned UP receivers and maybe P receivers might work for you.

Double or power domes would be a stretch with that loss.
