I was reading about a gentleman who is a musician, and he UPLOADED his audiogram in the message! I’m going to try to do the same. As he noted, it might take several messages to do this, but here I go:
ag.pdf (126.3 KB)
Nope, just one. Hope it helps somehow! Thanks for everyone’s patience!!
Go to the top menu Forum->My Hearing Tests
I find it works best on a desktop computer.
No place for “upload”. Why? Didn’t that work? Worked for the other gentleman, on that other thread.
I believe you need to enter the values manually. That is what I did.
The values don’t make any sense to me, and nothing goes above 120 dB or somesuch. Mine are above 132 dB (just not sure how much higher). But the .PDF loaded just fine, the information is all right there.
Best that I can do.
Looking at that pdf, everything is less than 120dB. Here is what i interpret could be entered. In both cases I would skip 750 & 1500 if possible or pick a value between 500 & 1000
Left Ear
250 = 100
500 - 100
1000 = 110
2000 = 115
3000 = 115
4000 = 115
6000 = 105
8000 = 80
Right Ear
250 = 70
500 = 75
1000 = 85
2000 = 95
3000 = 100
4000 = 105
6000 = 105
8000 = 90
The Target software always pops up some manner of warning, “Warning, aids are set above 132 dB” or something. Audi says they’re maxed out, volume-wise. That’s all I know. So, that’s what I got and why I’m getting more powerful aids since these basically don’t do anything any longer, even though they didn’t do very well to start
That’s the MPO. Nothing to do with the audiogram.
See, as I said:
I understand absolutely none of this. I simply need more powerful (read that as LOUDER) aids. I think that I’ve already chosen my model, thanks to the suggestions here and at some Australian site, both HUGELY helpful. Next is getting that appointment with the audi that will correspond with the next day that the Wife has off. (She has to truck me about everywhere; epileptics don’t drive, you probably know.)
The upload audiogram is used by members to add their audiogram to this forum.
If you click someone’s avatar it will show that person’s audiogram. That way the members can share information about your audiogram.
At the top of the forum page select the menu for the site. Then select forum. There you will find hearing test. There you can add your audiogram to share with forum members.
I see you are in Texas.
Have you considered Costco to buy hearing aids?
I am in the hill country.
My Mum was born in Bell County
Costco doesn’t sell Phonaks any longer, and they also place passwords on their programming so that my audi wouldn’t be able to help me. I don’t really have an issue with the cost of the aids; I just need more juice so that I can hear again, albeit barely. But thank you for the suggestion!
Yes, I saw all of that, thank you though. The issue is that I don’t understand my audiogram. Therefore, I can’t add anything freehand. I can UPLOAD it, I have a copy of the backup saved to my PC from the iCubeII it’s just that I don’t understand any of it.
Taking a picture and adding it to your post is another way to get it to the forum. That way some of the pros or even regular members can maybe answer your questions.
Another option is to talk to your audiologist or fitter about your audiogram. They should be able to answer your questions.
I’m getting the phonak-naida-p90-up, since that’s what has been suggested as the loudest, most powerful, and fattest hearing aids available that money can buy that aren’t rechargeable. I just have to get the appointment and have my Rx transferred, get moulds made, blah blah… you know. Plus now I have this nearly full case of size 13 batteries that won’t expire until 2027 to sell on eBay I guess lol
I did place it on this exact thread as a .PDF file. All anyone need do, is click it. But thanks again, for the suggestion. Don’t see why printing it out and taking photos are any better when the whole 4 page thing is all on one file, and clickable, right?
Not sure how you got this information, but Costco doesn’t lock their respective HAs, they did a very long time ago on a few models, but nothing recently.
Well, it WAS a long time ago actually. 2016 I think. When I first started rapidly losing my hearing and desperately searching for hearing aids, I found a rather snotty Forum that the mostly bitter users were discussing CostCo and how they were doing that. Also, never to use Beltone, and I still agree with that. Tried them, out of spite. They were (at least the ones nearest me) at best, slow, and at worst, completely incompetent. Politely told them what they could do with their product and their inadequate programming, went to my local Connect Hearing, met an audi who quickly became a friend, haven’t looked back.
