I just checked and the report for the VA costs of hearing aids & etc. is up. The costs of the categories is aggregated, so all the rechargeable RIC hearing aids from a mfr are grouped together, so if a Lumity were ordered instead of an Infinio, it would be in the same number. Avg cost around $475…

I was told years ago by one of my VA audiologist that the VA paid 10 cents on the dollar for heating aids.

Is that $475 number per pair or per each?

I don’t see any indication of either way. I’d be glad to know what the answer is. My suspicion is it is per aid.

Thanks. I wasn’t aware that Oticon was such a minor player compared to Phonak, etc.

Or everyone else just overpays. Are manufacturers losing money selling to the VA or Costco? Probably not.

It is volume and not one or two sales that make at least some money
