I took another look at the small plastic piece and noticed that it’s uneven on one end and looks like it’s been snapped off something, so going to have to agree with firenzel in that it broke off, the silver pins must have been straight at first and fixed within the grooves, also as shown in tenkan’s image, then after repeated use the plastic snapped off and got stuck inside the USB cable, which i then continued to use for many months and it worked fine, until the pins slowly bent over time and finally stopped working.
Decided to open the case up by removing two screws hidden under the feet and the bottom section of the case came off, then there were three silver metal plates that i took out, assuming these are just to add weight. Expected to see more inside but it was just a thin PCB. One thing i noticed is that the PCB has “Airlink 2” printer on it, i’ve previously read about Airlink 2 and that it’s similar to Noahlink Wireless but i never expected Noahlink Wireless to be the exact same thing. After reading more about it i realise the only difference is that it has “Noahlink Wireless” printed on the case and the firmware is pre updated.
Tried bending the pins again and accidentally broke one in the process, there isn’t enough space to get tweezers inside, or any other tool for that matter.
I don’t own a soldering device or have any PCB experience either, maybe someone with experience can advise whether this is worth trying to repair, or even possible. I’m just going to buy another one, but it’s nice to see the prices have come down and are half of what i paid originally, they are more easily available as well.
