My Noahlink Wireless 2 arrived and I have Genie 2 installed on Windows 11 laptop. I looked at the HIMSA website and it has software to download for the Noahlink, but says it needs a license to work for more than 45 days. Found an archive topic where someone said you don’t need the software for office applications. What do I need to set up the Noahlink with Genie 2.
I’m not an expert so take my comments for what they are worth.
've had the latest Noahlink SW installed for more than 45 days and it still works. I do not have a license.
I’m not sure there is any connection between Noahlink, Office applications, or Genie2. Noah link is strictly for the connection between your hearing aids and the hearing aid software on your Windows PC.
Thanks. I just tried to run Genie 2 with Noahlink Wireless 2 plugged into laptop. The Device Manager said it was connected (a Microsoft driver). But I can’t get Genie 2 to recognize the hearing aids. Followed instructions on Genie Resource center. Turned off Bluetooth on phone so it would not pair with hearing aids. Opened and closed the battery doors of the Oticon Real 1s (spouse has Oticon Intent 1, but started with these) but the Noah link doesn’t show it is pairing and the Genie 2 connect button is still faded out. Want to connect and download the existing settings.
Let’s start from the beginning, you talked about NOAH software which you don’t need or want to use, so not sure where you got your information from that you needed this, people can get confused because of the name, the Noahlink wireless programming device is “plug and play” it works straight out ot the box…but one thing that stops this from happening is the drivers, so sometimes with Win11 there’s a driver issue, but it’s easy enough to install from here, so give that a go first, I’d also suggest reading the user guides for genie as this is very helpful for setting up the first time.
Thanks. I did download the driver and firmware update (after above comment) and ran them. Had trouble with Connecting, but that was not understanding the Genie software. Had to go to the Welcome window. The connect button in the Client window was “grayed” out. So I managed to connect and read the settings in the Real 1s, and save them. And print them out. Haven’t played with anything yet.
Oh wow you didn’t make a client up first? that’s the first thing you do and you then connect, actually if you follow the instructions your best to make two clients up, one for your original audiology settings and one for your DIY projects, cheers
