New Rexton hearing aid coming out at Costco

I agree, this is fishy.

My Costco tells me that they’ve received a email telling them that the softwear issue should be fixed and the hearing aids ready for customers some time next week.

Just called my Costco in Mass. Rextons are on Hold??

Yes. Unrtil next week. Software issue.

What are the opinions on the Rexton aids?

Thy’re the same hardware as Signias, both made by WS Audiology which are also the makers of Widex devices. Rexton Reach series is the equivalent of Signias IX series.
IMHO they’re quite good, but need a good fitter. The build quality is excellent.
[I prefer the slim variants though]

I like my Signia AX7s a lot. as to the slim version…I got the slightly fatter–let’s call them ‘big boned’–telecoil version. Because the telecoil battery holds a charge longer. O.K.maybe they are ‘slim challenged’ aids.

I like my slims a lot [Stylettos AX actually] too, I wear glasses and they’re very comfortable in such shape. Also they blend into the temple’s tips which are of the same colour.

I have seen in multiple places that the Costco Rexton Reach is based on the Signia Pure Charge & Go IX’s. I reseached the IX and found that there are three models - 3IX, 5IX, and 7IX. I also found that the 7IX’s are superior and auto adjust in loud environments like restaurants, etc. and in the car. Does anyone know what model the Reach is equivolent to? Thank you ----

Normally, Costco only sells the premium model. Can you compare the specs of the Reach, and the 7IX? I would guess they would be similar.

Yeah there the same as the 7, Rexton are just rebranded.

Thanks for the info. I have TruHearing 7 Advanced HA’s on order with my local Truhearing provider. They are the same as the Signia 5IX. The are totally free under my Priority Health insurance plan but I can not upgrade them to the Truhearing 7 Premium (same as Signia 7IX) without paying around $3,000 for the pair. Pretty crazy - right?

TruHearing has a 60 day trial and if I am not happy with them I think I will get the Reach from Costco

and compare the two.

I attached a basic TruHearing chart the shows the difference between their model 7 Standard (Signia 3IX), Advanced (Signia 5IX) , and Premium (Signia 7IX) models.

Don’t waste your time with these at that price point, go straight to Costco and get the premium for $1600, seems to be the way to go.

I think rumor was that Costco would drop Rexton, replace it with Sennheiser, and is now testing a model at selected warehouses. Would Costco now introduce a new Rexton model? Has it been decided to not sell Sennheiser? Would Costco wait to carry a Phonak Sphere equivalent? No one here would know, so I think only time will tell.

Not sure, it’s just a rumour, but this from WS Audiology

I haven’t heard anything about this, no I think Costco will continue to carry Sennheiser, Sonova will do whatever is necessary to keep selling their products there, as for Sphere models, yes definitely that’s the whole reason Sonova has muscled in on Costco, they want to sell their latest wares just like the competition do at Costco.
