New look or is it just me

Hearingtracker is looking all dressed up…it’s changed a bit on the home page at least!

I would rather a page with information, not just filled with large photos.

Good point, but there is information as your scrolling down, and just about everything you touch on opens a new page with even more info, I think it’s working in that respect.

I have been a member of Dpreview for over 15 years. Amazon worked hard and found a buyer. They had announced the site would be closed

I was saddened when they announced its closure.

I learned that I should be grateful for the wonderful community here and the opportunity to learn.

Thanks to you all.

PS. photography on the net did close. Poof. Gone
It was mainly a Canon forum. POTN.
Prior to that a friend and monitored after making 70,000 posts. I didn’t and don’t appreciate the values of the owner of POTN. I had posted 6000 times over the years.

From the home page you have to scroll all the way down to find the forum, and that doesn’t seem very nice to me.
Anyone who arrives for the first time, and sees the home page, doesn’t even realize that there is a forum.

Or is it me who doesn’t see it?

Good sleuthing there Sherlock… But was it before? I wouldn’t notice things like that because I have the forum bookmarked in my browser.

Ha, yes, it changed drastically. We rebuilt the whole thing from scratch. It took over a year. You should check out one of our product pages to see how we pivoted toward expert reviews (see the rating cards and audio playback card with lab recordings). Our hearing aid comparison directory has changed too, and we’re still working on improving it.

I am still working on the navigation menus and will be adding the forum and links to our hearing loss, tinnitus, etc sections this week. Also keep in mind most visitors never see the home page, so a prominent nav link will mean more.

Dr Bailey I have trouble navigating through the forum. I bet it’s my fault. I have comments and questions all over the place.

When I was knew here I thought we all talked in code. I left for quite some time; came back and had a lot of learning to do. I’ve used hearing aids for about 22 years. Getting new hearing aids about 3 years ago was far more stressful than getting my first hearing aids. I needed lots of help here.

Now I’ve been here a while I feel guilty repeating old explanations and old rants.

I feel very grateful for the recognized providers who provide so much information and help.so much.

Frankly I don’ t know how the recognized providers who help us out keep food on the table. It seems to me that they spend a lot of time gaining experience. Then they contribute lots of time here providing help.

I wish there was an easy way to find skilled people close to me that can sell good equipment and then set it up right. In the three years I’ve had my Paradise P90R’s I’ve stopped blaming the hearing aids for not understanding speech.
