New Earplugs Won’t Amplify the Sound of Your Own Voice

Interesting! I’m curious how it would work for hearing aids, though. Wouldn’t it dampen the sound from the receivers in the same way it dampens the sound of the person’s own voice?

My guess is that they are using some kind of one-way venting - so that the sound pressure from your voice is able to escape your ear canals, but incoming sound is dampened.
