Nathos Nova M & Roger On

Hi,
I’m getting really confused with all this Roger Direct Stuff, and would hope for a process of what to do.

  1. I have NHS Nathos Nova M aids, and a Roger On bought off ebay. I currently connect via a Roger Neckloop.

What do I need to do to connect the Roger On directly (current status attached)?

  1. Would installing Target software, and buying a Noahlink work with these NHS aids.

  2. Finally, my old aids are Nathos Auto M and I have a Compilot II. If I was to source a Roger X ‘3’, would my Roger On (or older Roger Pen 1.1) connect to those?

Many thanks

The answers are yes but conditional. No doubt zebras will be along soon to advise.

You need a Roger On iN or a Roger X receiver (2 if both ears) with serial number 1744 or later to be installed with a Roger Installer.

No other way will work.

Phonak Nathos Nova are Phonak Bolero M70 M.

Many thanks, this info is very useful. It’s probably outside my justifiable price range to pursue this option, and will have to continue with a Neckloop. At least I can keep it under my shirt, although my chest lights up when I switch it on (I look very unlike Iron Man)

Try and find Roger X receiver/s with a serial number of later 1744 on eBay and ask the hospital to install it into your Aid/s with the Roger Installer.

I got 1 x Roger X for £19.

One last question.

Does it matter whether the Roger X(s) are V2 or V3, and can they be mixed (ie a V2 to one aid and a V3 in the other)?

It doesn’t really matter if you get a 02 or 03.

03 doesn’t work with the Inspiro or Touchscreen Microphone.

02 works with all Microphones.

If you have 1 x ear with 02 and 1 x ear with 03, it won’t really matter.

Just an update:

I now have one Roger X with its Serial Number over 1744. I’ve also emailed our NHS Audiology department to see if they possess a ‘Roger Installer’ (not got a reply yet). I have another Roger X with a serial number below 1744. This works fine attached to my Compilot II, and AS18 hot shoe with my spare Nathos Auto M’s and will connect my Roger Pen 1.1, but not my Roger On.

I’m just wondering what the significance is with the 1744 serial number, and why it has to be above that for my Nathos Nova M’s?

Also, if and when I get my 2nd Roger X (above that number), and get them installed to the aids, are the physical Roger X’s still available for other aids in hotshoes, orcare they bricked unless uninstalled?

Many thanks.

Peter

It’s to do with the firmware inside of it.

They are just empty cubes but don’t get rid as the Roger X will be stuck inside of the Aid and can’t be transferred back out if needed.

I bought a Roger Installer and have my left HA already connected to Roger. My 2nd Roger X is being shipped, so I should have both done in a few days.

I Used the Roger On in a meeting on Monday. I had my Neckloop on.

During the meeting, I switched between Loop and Roger (left only). Generally, I prefered the Roger Direct. There seemed to be less distortion.
