I am posting this in case it can help someone else. I use the Nexia NX961 hearing aid and Nucleus 8 Cochlear Sound Processor with my iPhone. A couple of months ago I noticed a change that I cannot correct. While Streaming TV sound, if I turn off my iPhone by clicking the side button, the streaming ends for a few seconds, then restarts. Also while using the devices for regular hearing, whenever I click the side button to turn off (lock) the phone there is a beeping sound and the devices seem to be resetting.
I contacted Resound and got the following reply:
The system sounds from your iPhone are considered a streaming connection to the hearing aids. This explains why the audio momentarily pauses from the TV Streamer accessory and then returns once the audio is finished from the iPhone.
We recommend turning off a setting for the hearing aids to help resolve this.
On your iPhone, please go to Settings – Accessibility – Hearing Devices – Turn off Play System Sounds.
With this setting turned off, touch and lock screen sounds will no longer stream to the hearing aids and not interrupt streaming connection with your wireless accessory.
The above worked and I am back to how the devices used to work. I longer am bothered with interruptions when I lock my phone.
