My Phonak Sphere vs Virto, Paradise and Marvel

It is very likely a housing pin, but the grip on the receiver is weakened and the receiver is easier to remove.

If enough people start complaining about the difficulty of removing the plugs, phonak will have to come up with a better solution than the current one.

Yeah this sounds like another fiasco then, like the CeruShield filters, they’ve dumped those for the better Cerustop on the new receivers, well at least Phonak listen!

Does the new 8-pin connection have a wedge as in the SDS 5.0 3-pin? It blocks pulling out connecton when the locking pin is in “locked” position.

Right @tenkan That’s the information I also had from the video. It’s just a pull out and easier done without needing a tool.

Still not clear how to get the receiver out easily but I’m loopinspecting with a loop first the details. After that and try pulling again, but it seems still very tied.

Here some pictures of my Phonak tool, the small pin, the hole far away from the receivers end and the smooth colar of the receiver part.

Furthermore it seems the pin is holding the housing and doesn’t allow the receiver to get out.
This will not be the solution in my opinion.

Don’t want to break another pair of cheap receivers, will leave it as it is. Don’t want to risk braking the housing of the aids.

The method I used with the knife at colars hight of the receiver end worked best for me. I think the small black ring is tgightening the receiver in the aid.

So in the Phonak and Marvel it was very easy with the pin. What am I doing wrong now is my question.

I think this is rather for housing.

Yes that’s indeed the other video I saw. I really don’t understand it. Is it because mine are a pre-order modell or what. Has someone else tried to pull the receiver out at the moment? Is it easy going?

I think Dr. Cliff could pull the receiver cable a bit slower to ensure that watchers see it clearly.

I have a problem ordering Sphere in chestnut color in Poland to give it a try.

However, today I received good news: I got an email from the new audiologist, and he wrote that he can do every requirement for making an ideal earmold (open jaw, deep impression past the second bend, and high-viscosity silicone) if my ear canal is anatomically eligible.

This is after the previous HCP was skeptical about an earmold with a small/no vent despite my explanation of almost no problems with occlusion (I somewhat understand her, but I’d prefer still try maybe better earmold)

@Bimodal_user
Well I hope your HA’s will come soon. Interested to hear what your experiences will be.

About the earmolds I remembered 1 or 2 years ago I ordered the Slimtips from Phonak and then came an email the impressions were fine but my ears not suitable for the ordered solutions. So they could offer the c-Shell only…

Thanks  I want chestnut brown housing, so I will surely wait until New Year  However, unexpectedly, on 19th October I will get a new sound processor (Nucleus 8), so I will have something to test

SlimTips definitely aren’t for me. I would like a deep titanium cShell or silicone at first, quite like @Zebras has.

Like their Paradise wax guards. The new ones are wonderful. Wait! I had used those wax guards in two previous sets of Phonak!

Phonak let me help! I will gladly volunteer to be in a senior focus group! You will catch disasters like those wax guards!

If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it!

Just hook your finger under the bend and yank with confidence. It’s tight, but I haven’t had trouble so far.

The batteries are doing a great job.
I now got so used to not having batteries in my pocket anymore.
Went out in the evening to a social, batteries were still above 30% so I thought that will still do for a couple of hours.

Many people and loud music. Within 1/2 an hour batterie warning. That ment nothing with my Virto P90 312’s, just change the batteries. But I forgot I was wearing the Spheres. So probably within one hour I thought whats up why is it like I don’t hear a thing anymore. Conversations impossible with my new Speres?

So next time I’ll remember only take the Spheres when the batteries are loaded 100% or switch the programm off from Sphere in loud noise. Pitty, next time I,ll bring the small loader for a boost.

This seems to be a problem with cable stretching.

Thanks @Bimodal_user
Thanks.
Yeh, mine wasn’t stretched that much as I stopped pulling. But stretching less will have the same result I suppose. And nice to hear in this video there is a HowTo video for removing the receiver from Phonak somewhere… I’ll search for that before I try a second time to remove the receiver as I think it is needed before you do so. Also glad to see it is not only me who had some problems.

@WhiteHat
Yes, I didn’t mention this LOL. But also my DNA is now between my new receiver and one of the HA. If you push the receiver in it suddenly tries to snap a part of your finger- skin indeed.

I know this reply is quite late, but I felt that your comment was recent enough and wryly amusing enough that I just had to respond.

Timely for me, too, because I’ll soon be seeing my audiologist about custom molds. I like knowing how to change the receivers, just in case!

@AttilaDaPun, do you have the Sphere or Infinio R? If yes, please DO NOT use any pin pusher for changing the receiver in Infinio line! That work in my Paradise and possibly in the Lumity line.

Thanks! Having read further, I realize this is apparently a case pin. I have no intention whatsoever of messing with at all! I have Infinio 50R.
