My PhonaK app hits new low!

Why do so many people feel it’s necessary to run an advertisement for Costco when it was never asked and totally unrelated to the thread

So I’m guessing you’re comment that the EasyLine App works with the P90 was actually a ploy to advertised the KS10?

I guess being able to go to Costco depends on the severity of your hearing loss. I’d spend the six G’s to not have to wait months for adjustments and be without any aids if serviced. Phonak have the best accessories like the Roger Pen and Select too. Well worth the money for some folks.

First up. Do a search for the App - From the home screen, swipe right to reveal the search box. And start typing.

On the iPhone OS side of things. It may be so that the ‘new phone default’ was set up to put all APPs (and new) straight into the ‘APP Library’ and not on one of the free spaces on one of the pages.

For me, I am running iPhone 13 Pro, with iOS 15.3 beta, wearing a pair of Naida P90-UP BTE. Other than the usual lag to connect, the APP work fine.

Possibly because their so happy with the deal they got, plus just to let everyone know in case they didn’t know it, that you don’t have to spend your kids college fund just to get help for your hearing.

How so? I mean Costco sells HAs for just about all hearing losses, including the Brio 5 from Phonak.

This is confusing, I’m pretty sure you don’t have to wait “months” anywhere to get adjustments, also there is remote support for those clinics that aren’t able to open because of covid19 if that’s what you mean.

This is my story regarding this app i went trough.
I got about 2 Month a go one Paradise 90-RT . My Iphone is Iphone 11 with IOS 15.2
My Audi have adjusted the HA over the remote connection with success. However i got permanent errors with the App it self whenever i have use one of the Custom Profiles. The app AND the HA have crashed.
HA have reboot and app and Telephone needed to restarted for to be able to connect with the app to the HA again. By the way Bluetooth pairing was always successfull but App have bring up always error messages .(internal error blabla.) So finaly i have think my HA my need one Firmware Upgrade to be compatible with the new versions of the app. So i connected the HA with Noahlink to Target.
The first Massage i got from Target have say that my HA have no valid config so it needed to set them to factory default and loose all setting on the HA when i do that. So i did that and adjusted th HA new.
Firmware Update was not needed ,was alredy latest version. Now My app and HA works again like a charm. Strange!!

Costco is Costco. But I’m pretty sure they carry aids for all types of loss. Just not a wide variety. And I apologize to the op in helping take his thread completely off track.

You can buy brand new Phonak P-90’s on EBay for less than $3,000. That is where I buy all my hearing aids. I then bring them to an Audio to program them for $250.

You should have an iPhone and you should reboot the phone on a weekly basis. I almost bought the Phonak locally for 5200 but finally bought the Truhearing 6 HAs which are made by Signia and very much like the Signia 7AX. Several thousand less then Phonak but the Phonak you bought are 4300 through Truhearing. What is disturbing is you don’t seem to be getting any help from your Audiologist based on your story. They should be helping you troubleshoot this situation. That is supposedly what you paid the big money for. Are you in touch with Phonak customer service?

but you do not have a guarantee, which is usually free for the first three years. By the way, I admit, I bought unitron hearing aids, flextrial via ebay because I wanted a premium level for low money and I also bought noahlink wireless for $ 250 because they need to be reset every month, they are a demo version that lasts 6 weeks. i would buy through costco hearing aids if they were close to me. unfortunately they are not

Hi Markoo
You can get any hearing aid repaired now for about $200. I recently had my audiologist replace all the inner workings of my Resound Quattro for $250. He just kept the shell. Those hearing aids had no guarantee. There are multiple vendors on EBay and on the net that will fix your hearing aids for about $200. Those days are gone when you are tied to an Audio for every service.

My thought…it takes a lot of my time getting my hearing aids right. My audiologist is really good. Much better than my last one.

Canadian Costco experience–it’s hard to get good service. I hear complaints from friends who bought glasses there. They’ve only just started offering hearing aids for sale. My thought–I don’t trust them to set up hearing aids right, until I hear from someone else that they are happy, and who set up their hearing aids.

So my Paradise hearing aids were supplied by my audiologist who was highly recommended by a hearing specialist I trust at my school board.

He’s done well for me.

I wish they would update the app to work with my P70R CROS. It’s promised for 2022 and I realize we are only two weeks in, but patience has never been my strongest trait.

My audi said the app upgrade will probably happen this spring, so we have a month or two to go.

I love the way people pick apart comments. Almost as if they are trolling.
To clarify,
My hearing loss is severe to profound. Costco was my first experience with hearing aids. If you stop there then you’re probably getting help from them. (Ie., based on the severity of your hearing loss).
People who need more specialized help will have to see more specialized providers.
I needed more help than Costco could provide. I had to wait at least a month in between adjustments and if I had service I didn’t have access to any hearing aids. I could not survive my day-to-day without practically emergency access to a provider. Which I have, just down the road from my work w/private audiologist. I don’t think Costco is great for everybody.

Wow. I paid $3500 for my Marvel aids 3 years ago, and that discount was only because my insurance company picked up the tab for ONE aid every 3 years. I transitioned to Medicare 1.5 yrs later and am on my own now footing the entire bill.

For just $1400 a pair, I’m REALLY tempted to buy a pair at Costco as a backup. It could be that Costco only sells the Paradise now (and not the Marvel), but it sure gives me an idea for the next pair of aids I get.

It could be the LOW PRICE. For someone like me, I’ve always needed a backup pair of aids because I can not function if I send in the pair I’m using currently for servicing (as is happening right now with my Marvel aids).

Instead of falling back on my years old pair of aids for a backup (far worse quality, older, streaming issues, etc.) I could buy a cheaper Costco pair of the identical model as the one I’ve bought from an audi, who I go to regularly for program adjustments and whatnot.

HA makers never seem to offer a 2-for-1 price or even a discount for an additional pair. Granted, not everyone needs a backup pair of aids, but I am one person who absolutely has to have one on-hand at all times. I even travel with my backup aids.

Nobody is disputing what you’re saying. It’s just that the Costco comment previously mentioned was irrelevant to the thread

That’s cool, I can appreciate that. Having a backup pair is super important! (Yet so many people I know who have hearing aids, just barely wear them!) For some reason my brain can only fully adjust to a single set of hearing aids at a time. If you do get the second pair as a “back-up” I’d be curious if they sound like your everyday pair… ? Can you keep us posted on that?
