Muffled sensation in my Right side – tech issue or ear pressure?

Some context. Without hearing aids, it looks like:
• Right side – it’s a bit more stable
• Left side – it’s more unpredictable (due to constant tinnitus).
Different story while aided with HAs, in my experience I’ve always had a similar “hearing experience” in my right and left side, both R+L side worked well together.

So I was kind of surprised that for some time now, at least for 1 month, I find myself pushing my Right HA (microphone) volume up (to the point of distortion) since I experience it as weaker and muffled. It seems really odd to me, and I can’t say exactly if it’s related to the piece of tech (almost 7 years old) or some ear pressure issues.

On one hand, I think it could be an ear-mold issue – since one ear-mold is built just like it can be seen in the picture and there is a tiny space where earwax can deposit without blocking air (kind of in-built “dead end” – I don’t know how to clean without damaging).

On the other hand, I often have ear-pressure sensation in both ear and I know this may (or may not) be a plausible cause for this, also given that anybody managed to explain why the last tympanometry in the right ear was flat.

So, it’s been difficult to adjust to this dissonance and I end up wearing only one HAs, which it’s not enough. I hope that anyone else more experienced than me can help me with that.

Looks like there is a blob of wax in the tube. I would clear that out and check your ears for wax. You would be surprised how little wax it takes to muffle your hearing in one ear. Start there first.
