Meta Glasses Translation - Current Model

So I’m reading Meta glasses now offer translation in English, French, Spanish and Italian. Or will in very near future. But what’s confusing is the translation feature seems to be only from one language to another different language. And not related to live speech (English) to glass lens text captioning.

Meta’s website mentions translation feature but only regarding translation, say English to French or vice versa. If that’s the case you would think Meta glasses would also offer live speech to text display for someone just speaking English. So can anyone verify if Meta is currently providing text-captioning glasses for the hearing impaired? Or strictly AR glasses this year or next for different language translation. Also I should mention I’m not talking future Orion Meta AR glasses that are two or three years off. Just talking current glasses or upcoming ones in early 2025.

I did not think the Meta glasses had a display at all?

I thought they could take photos and video but the visual content could only be viewed on another device.

If you google Meta AR glasses you get this - In the near future, the Meta headsets will also be able to translate speech in real time which will help hearing impaired, deaf community. Supposedly coming end of year.

Now I know regarding language translation you might have to have two people wearing Meta glasses at same time. But I believe for simpler English transcription to text only one pare of glasses is needed (to be worn) by user. Question now is when Meta glasses hit market with live English to text glasses display how will that impact competition. Got a feeling Meta glasses are going to be priced to move. As in under $500, possibly under $400. It’s coming and also with perscription glass lenses.
