Lumity Life cutting out

I am interested in audiologist and user experience. My left lumity life aid is cutting out. It happens fairly regular 6-8 times an hour and last just seconds. Also when streaming no sound coming from the left aid. Has anyone had this happen? Is it hardware or software issue.

Also I just sent these aids in 4 months ago because of a charging issue? Does phonak have a problem hearing aid? Should I look at another brand when warranty expires? I have had oticon and resound without issues but I hear so much better with phonak.

Where do you live? It might be moisture issue. Do you have a hearing aid dryer? What type of earmold are you using?

I live in Michigan. I have the standard ear molds and I do not use a dryer. I have just returned from audiologist office who said the aids check out fine. Nevertheless I have asked that they be sent to Phonak for further evaluation.

As a side note why the dryer? I believe these were sold as waterproof hearing aids.

How old are the receivers?

They were replaced 4 months ago.

I have never had either side cut out and always have sound on both sides.

I would say time to send for repair (hopefully replace).

These aids are not waterproof. They are water resistant. Even with better protection, you still need to have a hearing aid dryer.

Sorry you are experiencing difficulties and welcome to the bad luck with Phonak club, you are not alone! Best to send them in while still under warranty.

I had a problem with one of my newish Lumity HAs (see https://forum.hearingtracker.com/t/lumity-life-cutting-out/87697) and it was replaced. Last week a different problem with the other one. It has just been sent to Phonak. Very disappointing!

My audiologist tested them in the office and said they checked out fine. Nevertheless I asked that she return them to Phonak. Luckily I have an old pair which are holding up. Hopefully, it’s a blip in the road.

I heard from an audiologist that about 18 percent of hearing aids repaired from the manufacturer do not meet the manufacturer’s spec’s. So if there are issues or aid comes back from the manufacturer, have your audiologist or hearing aid specialist test the hearing aid. Not all hearing aid clinics have the hearing aid text box.
