Has anyone tried Lucid Hearing Aids? As far as I know, they are sold exclusively at Sam’ Club stores under the name of Liberty Hearing Aids. I am curious because they’re the only hearing aids I know of that use an alternative to WDRC (compression) called ADRO (adaptive dynamic range optimization), which was invented by Peter Blakey in Australia for use in cochlear implants. I’m wondering what the listening experience is like.
They are also sold online by America Hears at americahears.com. I wore America Hears aids years ago and liked them. As the industry evolved and Henry Smith sold off America Hears, they became less competitive, both in technology and pricing. I’m biased, but I think you can do better elsewhere.
Thanks. What I found interesting is that Lucid’s parent company, Hearing Lab Technology, also bought Westone Audio and Etymotic, both of which focused on music. I wondered if the partnership has yielded anything to make their hearing aids have advantages for listening to music. I think that Lucid’s core ADRO technology already had certain advantages for music.
I’m currently working for a company that sells Lucid, and the aquisition for Westone Audio was for help with the development of their new receivers which have separate Tweeters in them that get the output up to 18,000 Hz. That was the idea behind the aquisition to my knowledge
Would that company start with “S”
I had hearing test and demo of the 128 channel at Sam’s club today. the audio there was not aware of the high-fidelity receiver that is available at AH … would that option be of any value to a ski slope loss… or does it give better bass as well?
Does this company not allow people to trial their aids. Seems to be a lot of questions here that only a user can answer for themselves
I know that the Lucid HAs at Sam’s Club can be trialed. I did a trial myself and liked them a lot.
My local Kroger now offers hearing tests and aids. It was weird to see someone standing at the entrance trying to get people to stop and sign up to be tested!
