I’m not impressed by Sam’s Club’s offering. Costco offers hearing aids from 4 of the major hearing aid manufacturers. I know nothing about Lucid and looking at the pictures, they look “cheap.”
They are made by the same company (Hearing Labs Technologies) that makes America Hears in Bristol, PA. I wear America Hears and have since 2008 (not a paid endorser - just a huge enthusiast). Lucid is the brand specifically for Sam’s Club. They are solid, great aids, though they lack the Bluetooth bells and whistles a lot of new aids have. They don’t look snazzy, but inside they are solid and, so after 10 years, still the best sounding hearing aids I’ve heard as a musician. And they are great with speech. If you get them from America Hears, you can also get a hardware/software kit (PC-only) that allows you to program them yourself - a must for me as a musician/engineer/producer.
When I checked Lucid Hearing online at U128’s - Lucid Hearing, I noted a short video that showed a CR2032 battery
(also at YouTube).
The battery diameter is just a bit smaller than a US 5-cent piece. I keep them on hand for some of my electronic devices, e.g., a digital bathroom scale. They would seem rather large for a reasonable form factor. OTOH, they would last a lot longer than the usual 312 or 13 sizes. So, this could be a desirable engineering coup. Do yours use CR2032 batteries? If not, what size, please? Thanks.
Mine use 312 batteries. They last 6-7 days, typically. I remove them and open them to air them out and kill the battery from appx 11pm to 7am.
Thanks for the info. I am happy to know that you are satisfied with the Lucid HAs. I appreciated your earlier detailed reply.
Just to be clear, mine are not Lucid branded - they are pre-Lucid America Hears aids. I BELIEVE that they have the same technology, but that would need to be clarified.
