My Phonak TV Connect has worked well with my Phonak P90 hearing aids until recently. We are connected to DirecTV satellite using an HR54-700 receiver.
We replaced our television with a Sony STR DH770 and the TV Connect continued to work correctly. I could hear, mute and adjust volume on my hearing aids independently of the room broadcast audio with the IPhone app.
Audio goes through an RCA K77XR80 Amplifier, 4K capable.
Since the new TV is 4k capable, we had DirecTV install a C71-100 receiver to enable 4K video. Now, the audio to my hearing aids through the TV Connect box appears to be through the main audio somehow. I do not get the signal direct, it is “slaved” to the main room audio, and the mute and hearing functions in the hearing aids seem linked to the main audio. I still have volume control to further amplify or lessen the volume in the hearing aids. Audio is set to Dolby OFF.
How do I correct this to get proper TV Connect function?
Welcome to the forum. . I am a little confused, however, about how your TV Connector is setup. Do you have the TV Connector connected directly to your TV with Toslink cable or is it connected to the new DirecTV receiver? Hopefully, someone with knowledge of your specific set up will know what to do
- There’s no such thing as 4K audio. You might mean 4K video passes through that amp.
- You bolded a sentence. Have you tried having Dolby ON for the tv connector connection?
- Is the cable connecting to the connector toslink or plain audio 3.5mm? ie. is there a light coming out of it or is it just a chrome tip?
Basically, what is the audio path? You have the C71-100 source. What all is connected to the RCA amp? What all is connected to the tv? Did the installer muck around with all your connections that worked before he got there thinking he was doing you right?
What exact model and maker is the C71-100 receiver, i can’t find any information in the internet if i search for C71-100.
Could you provide more info about this receiver ?
I found this, maybe it’s this one.
Is TV sound out connected to the fiber optic out?
