Listening to audiobook with Evolv AI 1000 (Starkey)

Hello I’m new, first time hearing aid wearer with Evolv AI 1000. I would like to listen to audiobooks from my android phone. Most instructions say simply pair (yes, it’s paired with my phone) and turn on your audiobook. What? I have no menu items to share or stream or control this in my Thrive app. I’m thinking my 1000 doesn’t have this feature??

FWIW.
I have Starkey Edge AI
When I stream to my aids the phone, my pixel 6a, controls the stream.
I use the My Starkey app.

They make it so hard checking the features of the lower models. Frustrating.
If they are paired, you can try checking under Bluetooth settings on your phone, see what is enabled.

It’s possible to know exactly what features etc with the software as well, have you checked out the Pro website, you usually find what your looking for.

You probably need to use a player like VLC that you can download from Google Play Store.

If your local library subscribes to Libby, then you can listen to audiobooks through the Libby app if you have a library card.

If you want to listen to podcasts, then an app like AntennaPod is helpful.

Sorry, but I still can’t find the differences between Evolv AI 1000/1200/1600/2000/2400 other than “Less features” :man_shrugging:, and I wish to know before owning them.

Did you consult with your audiologist about the problem?
If so what did they tell you?

I’m so addicted to Cloud Library - free from my local public library. I also use Hoopla, but I like Cloud better.

I guess in a way it does, there’s no doubt a lot of the information we’ve taken for granted is now a little harder to come by, maybe the manufacturers are deliberately doing this?

Yes… everything I get is – Make an appointment, come over next month, ask the audiologist. And they each work with a different brand, so it’s very hard comparing offers.
