You really piqued my interest in this soundbar and now I don’t understand what you mean by ‘it’s just an LE Audio sink’. The manual talks about pairing LE devices, you means that’s only for sound input and no LE Audio output? If so how did you find out? Cheers
That’s right. LE Audio input, not output. I got this from a Denon support rep and a store salesman (who I guess checked with his rep before he called me back).
We really need a sad emoji instead of just the heart emoji on a post’s LIKE button.
the way LE Audio rollout is going (nowhere fast).
Dunno. I think there’s development going on behind the scenes. Having said that, Google and Apple need to have rockets lit under them. Especially Apple. Anyway, i think that when it all starts to move, it will accelerate quickly.
I found this LE audio transmitter for trains: Auracast transmitter | Televic. Anybody out there running a rail network?
Worth mentioning regarding the discussion before in the thread about the Resound MultiMic+ (that is AuraCast enabled). It looks like it’s an Auracast transmitter in addition to the connection to compatible hearing aids and cochlear implants (Resound, Jabra, Beltone, and Cochlear N7+).
Not sure if it’s in retail already or not. But one downside is that it says in the screenshot that the audio stream is public not password protected also no word on connected devices (sinks) limit.
Why would public be a downside? I guess I see why they should allow password protection after thinking about it.
If people are going to have problems, it is with pwd implementations. I can hear it already! “It doesn’t work. I took it back.”
WH
All I know is that my aids sound so much better when I am streaming from my phone when le audio is enabled than when it is disabled.
What I’m looking for from LE Audio is a way around the Multi-Mic. I want to be able to exploit a microphone that can sit in the middle of a meeting with the voices being received by my HAs without requiring me to buy an intermediary device. I’m not even sure that’s possible, but it looks like it is.
I have that idea as well. LE Audio should be able to make that experience smoother in the future when your meeting is set with auracast technology and your hearing devices are auracast compatible. Then with your assistant (phone) you’d just tune-in the meeting microphone stream and boom, you’re doing what the Multi-Mic is doing.
It being able to stream kind of enables the above but ironically not for you, it’s for others so you can share what the Multi-Mic is getting with your friend’s pixel buds for example etc…
Interesting… quoting from buyer feedback: “Due to the lack of a unified standard for LC3 encoding and decoding worldwide, compatibility may occur when products with different schemes are paired, resulting in the inability to use LC3 encoding and decoding. Our product uses the Qualcomm scheme, so if the paired product also uses the Qualcomm scheme, it can be paired and used with LC3 encoding and decoding.”
I am tempted to buy one to pair my Phonak P90’s to all my incompatible devices. But I believe that it was somewhere on this forum that I read & clipped: “There are several implementations of the LC3 Auracast protocol which are not compatible with each other! The most popular ones are the ‘mtk’ scheme and the ‘Qualcomm’ scheme. This Eppfun audio transmitter-Receiver uses the LC3 mtk codec, so your other unit must use the same LC3 mtk codec to work. Eppfun provides fantastic support for this product, highly recommended.” Here, @TimMac presents the same dongle.
I thought I posted something but maybe not. I bought an eppfun transmitter that’s supposed to be auracast. It’s not. So buyer beware even more than usual.
@Andy_Bellavia if you’re still monitoring this forum, do you know anything about this supposed Qualcomm/mtk incompatibility? A bit of a problem for LE Audio if it’s real.
I’ve been spending a bit of time swapping back and forth between LE Audio and Asha. I think the LE Audio experience is better. Voices are more natural, more three dimensional maybe. I’m thinking that I’m hearing more of the transitions between phonemes. It’s a subtle difference. I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with Asha but I am appreciating the slight improvement. Anyone else?
I prefer the LE Audio experience better with the nuanced sound improvement as well.
Since Samsung’s update that fixed the issues with le audio and my aids i have just enabled le audio and left it enabled. I can definitely hear a difference in the sound.
@cvkemp, I have had only LE Audio on since One UI 6.1.1 was installed. It has been a joy to be able to talk on the phone, with it in my pocket, or laying down somewhere with hands free and with just tapping my ear to connect to incoming calls. The difference in freedom and convenience of access is a stark difference for me.
I see why some have migrated to Phonak or iPhone HAs in the past. When I first got my Jabra Enhance Pro 20s and the Galaxy S23 Ultra hands free worked for me as well. However One UI 6 broke it on all the LE Audio ‘capable’ Galaxy phones. I am grateful to have patiently waited for it to be working again. And, for the first time on my partner’s Galaxy S24 Ultra.
And, yes, the difference in the sound is noticable for me too.
I am enjoying the double tap to answer calls, I can actually take it or leave it. I am finding that i am leaving my phone on my night stand and answering calls from anywhere in the house without any issues. The range of my S23 and my INTENT1 aids is impressive. I walked out to get the mail, a good 60 feet from the house and my phone was on my nightstand at the back of the house and I was able answer a call. I did ask the caller to give me a minute to return to the house. I stayed in the living room at the front of the house and talked for 20 minutes. I never could do that with an IPhone.
I really appreciate the double tap feature. I no longer have to hunt for my phone or even fumbling to take it out of my pocket.
Yes it is with my EP 20s as well. I put my phone on the front porch then walked to both neighbors houses before it started cutting out, then it connected back as soon as I came back in range.
I also sat on my side porch and talked clearly. When I walked behind the house I went out of range then walked back to the side of the house and came back in range. The extended range of LE Audio is impressive. It is greater than previous Bluetooth protocols.
I think Creative just released BT-W6 in the US market.
According to its spec, it supports Auracast in both Unicast (CIS) and Broadcast (BIS) modes.
