KS10 update of firmware(?) - should I implement?

Brand new to DIY today; during my 1st session Target indicated Update available for KS10 which I did NOT do. As per instructions in DIY member PDF without making any changes to settings I immediately did a “save” to preserve the programming done by Costco fitter so I can return to those as needed, and expect I will do so B4 my next end of Dec. appt with Costco. I realize tha fitter will know that I had made changes due to time stamp mismatch.

Should I do the Update to HAs which I am fairly sure is firmware? Is there someplace in Target to see what firmware is being used?

Thanks for member support here so that I have at least gotten software and hardware to work. Starting courses on audiology online to cut my learning curve.

I am now even more convinced that this is what I want to do. KS10s picked up Oct. 19, '21 and should have had latest firmware as I believe it was available August '21, but certainly at my followup visit Nov. 4th when some minor tweaking was done fitter would have seen the same Update available. Thus I am so happy to be able to do things independently as while many things I like about Costco, I am increasingly concerned about competence of fitter even though he has >8 yrs exp.

Welcome to the DIYers!
Good to see you are ready now!

I always do the update, but in your case you might better not. I do not know but in case your fitter is not up to date he might have difficulties to connect or program your HA’s. If they have a newer Firmware than his Target version knows about.
Anyway, I think you should tell your fitter that you are going to DIY. These are your HA’s, and you can do what ever you want to with them.

Yes, go to “Trials and Tools” on the bottom of the screen, before you select “clients and session”. Then choose “device informations” and follow the instructions.

Good luck!

@sterei Much thanks for reply and explanation. Thus I will not do firmware update on the slight chance that doing so might then lock out Costco fitter from connecting. I will probably post here what firmware my KS10 is using so I can confirm that it is not the latest firmware which has been my suspicion as I have no control in EasyLine for tap sensitivity.

I purchased KS10.0 Hearing Aids from Costco today (11/30/2021). I am due to pick up my new KS10 Hearing Aids on December 10th. The Specialist who tested my hearing informed me that the KS10 very recently received a firmware update. I want to be certain that my new hearing aids have the latest firmware update when I pick them up on December 10th. Can anybody tell me the latest firmware version number? Thank you.

@Mark8888 While I usually don’t like proliferating threads on the forum, if you don’t get an answer here soon then you might start your own thread. On advice in this thread I did NOT update my firmware in the Target software so I do NOT know what the latest firmware # is.

I think you are smart to make sure that your HAs are up to date when you pick them up. While one would think that Costco fitter would make sure this is the case they certainly didn’t do so, and I picked things up 5 weeks or more after the firmware was updated this summer.

If you look at the screen when your HAs are first connected to the computer by fitter you will see that the Target software automatically points out that there is a firmware update available. I expect that if you simply ask fitter to be sure to update you might be safe (even if you don’t know the firmware #). The firmware for your HAs can only be seen in the Taarget software and not in the KS smartphone user app.
